Chapter 16

A New Power

Even with eight bodies filling it President Stone’s office felt empty. Nicholas sat at ease, Aria, Elaine, and Morgana loosely spread behind him while Joseph maintained his position behind his desk. Steven, Abby, and Tetsu were all standing loosely behind him in the same orientation as Nicholas’ harem. Unlike her disguises on Nicholas’ previous visit, from the start Abby was in full pokegirl mode.

“I thought you had another pokegirl, Nicholas?” Steven was asking. Nicholas remained relaxed even as he felt Tetsu’s eyes boring into him. “Where is she?”

“I didn’t release her because I didn’t want any trouble,” Nicholas replied.

“I would like to see all of your pokegirls, please,” Joseph said apologetically. “I’m sure there won’t be any trouble.”

Nicholas sighed. “Fine.” Before he could reach for it himself Bea’s pokeball had popped open.

The Metang materialized and immediately took a step back to join her harem. “Mother. Masters Stone.”

“Oh? What’s this?” Steven’s eyes picked over Bea’s body. She was still functionally nude but during their travels through the Rusturf Tunnel between Verdanturf and Rustboro she had been siphoning metals from the earth. Now her chest was fixed in place by a set of metal rods that looped around her breasts and shoulders. A bra in practice, but it was a bra only a pokegirl like her could have ever manufactured.

Aria had gone the easy route and simply asked him for clothing in Mauville.

“A pokegirl releasing herself from her pokeball… why, that’s not safe at all,” Steven continued in a low voice. “And yet you don’t seem surprised. Don’t tell me you encourage this behavior.”

“Of course I do,” Nicholas began, but he was interrupted by a hand on his shoulder.

“There are two options when traveling,” Bea said quietly. “Either we reside within our pokeballs or we walk beside our Master. To walk beside him is safer. We are ready for any threat. But to remain within our pokeballs allows us to remain rested and fresh, at the risk of not being there when our Master needs us.” She locked eyes with Tetsu and this time, her challenging expression triggered no response. “My Master has instructed us all in techniques to remove the weaknesses of those two options. We both walk beside him and remain fresh for battle. Only a fool would see it otherwise.”

          Nicholas paled. “Bea…”

“No. She’s right. Only a fool would.” Steven smiled. “I, however, am not a fool. Tetsu and the others know those techniques as well. Can you forgive me for testing you, Bea?” Steven’s smile turned bitter for a moment. “I wanted to know what kind of pokegirl you’ve become.”

Bea bowed her head slightly. “Of course.”

“Well. Now that we’re all introduced.” Joseph steepled his fingers together and turned his attention to Nicholas. “I believe we’re all here to discuss something rather dire.”

          “The plot at Mt. Chimney.”

          “Precisely.”

Steven nodded. “Forgive me, by the way, if I sound skeptical. You stopped the forces of Magma? Alone? With…” he hesitated as his eyes traveled over Bea again before forging on. “With relatively untrained pokegirls?”

“No, you’re right to be skeptical,” Nicholas replied. “A force that the best tamers of the League can’t pin down, and the equivalent of a ten year old happens along and crushes them? Of course it would be insane to take that at face value.” Nicholas held up two fingers. “There are two reasons why I was able to win. The first is because Aqua was already there, fighting.”

Steven nodded. “I see. The two cults were already in conflict.”

“If Aqua hadn’t been there the second reason wouldn’t have mattered. Magma would have fulfilled their plan with or without my interference,” Nicholas explained. “Because of them I only had to fight past a tiny amount of resistance. Which brings me to the second reason, the thing that allowed me and my pokegirls to get in the way.” Nicholas hesitated a few moments, debating what exactly to say, before leaning closer to the two Stones and holding one eye open. “I am a Draconid. Descendant of the ancient defenders of this land.” When neither man seemed to react he settled back. “And I’ve lied to you, Champion Stone.”

Finally Steven snorted, a wry smile twitching at his lips. “I had my suspicions. Those eyes of yours, those don’t just make you a Draconid. Do they.”

          “No.”

“I thought so. I know quite a few of the dragon clan,” Steven replied, “and none of them have the eyes of one. Only one or two are rumored to be that close to their Mistress. The Emerald Dragon, Rayquaza.”

“I think a reintroduction is in order,” Nicholas said. “I am Nicholas Topolski. As a beginning tamer, I found my way to a man named Lance Blackthorn, the Dragon Master of the Indigo Elite Four. From there I was led to the Johto region and discovered my heritage from the Blackthorn dragon clan: a direct and uninterrupted line from the original human blessed by Rayquaza. The original Draconid. My time there awakened my blood, but it didn’t cause… this.” Nicholas gestured at his eyes. “This is the result of a blessing. I am a chosen one of the Eternal Ones, specifically the legendary pokegirl Ho-oh. That is the truth of the stories I am sure you’ve heard, Champion Stone.”

“I would assume this blessing is what activated your bond with Rayquaza, then,” Steven said. “So this is why you acted so strangely back on Dewford. You really were there when Rayquaza calmed the rampaging primals.”

“I’m not reincarnated, if that’s what you’re saying,” Nicholas replied. “At least I don’t think I am.”

Steven chuckled and shook his head. “No, I get that. But some part of you was there, right? You remember it or something, the scene depicted in the murals. That’s why you were able to describe the emotions of the artist so confidently.”

“Yeah. Something like that,” Nicholas conceded. “I have… visions, and dreams. Many of them are from back then.”

“If you’re connected this closely with Rayquaza then you could be our last hope,” Steven murmured. “If Kyogre or Groudon, or both of them, awaken, then we’d be lost if Rayquaza doesn’t as well.”

          “Rayquaza will not awaken.”

          Steven frowned. “What?”

“Sorry. Let me rephrase that,” Nicholas quickly amended. “Yes, if the worst possible scenario comes to pass, I will do everything I can to awaken Rayquaza. But the Draconid people were blessed by Rayquaza so that she would no longer be needed.” Nicholas clenched his fist. “They were blessed to be the defenders of humanity, the bridge between our two species. I said back then that I couldn’t stand up to Kyogre or Groudon alone, and I meant it. But if they never wake…” He looked up. “I can’t stop the Legendaries. I’m only human. So I’ll stop the humans instead.”

Steven was leaning over his father’s desk in his excitement. “You’ll help me?”

“I’ll travel Hoenn on a badge challenge. It will give me an excuse to search every part of the region, and wherever I find the cults, I’ll chase them into the open.”

Steven settled back with a satisfied grin. “Where I can sweep them up.”

          “Exactly.”

“Thank you.” Steven gazed at Nicholas. “Your speech is more like what I had thought a powerful Draconid would say.”

          Nicholas raised an eyebrow. “Oh?”

“That clan still exists here in Hoenn. I tried to get an audience with their leader but she rebuffed me. Started talking about how I should just wait and be thankful for Rayquaza’s salvation.” Steven scowled. “I don’t want to just sit by and wait while people die.”

“Well as I said I don’t intend to let it come to that,” Nicholas replied. He couldn’t reveal that Zinnia was orchestrating the cults. Not yet. “Was there anything else you wanted to discuss?”

“Yes, actually,” Joseph replied. “I’d like to hear more about what exactly Magma was doing on Mt. Chimney, if you please. I understand that they intended to make the volcano erupt but how?”

“They had some sort of machine and said they were pumping energy into the mountain,” Nicholas explained. “They were using a meteorite from Meteor Falls as the power source.”

“…I see.” Steven crossed his arms with a frown. “They were powering their machine with some random rock.”

Nicholas shrugged. “That’s all I was told.”

“Steven, there’s no need to keep this secret from Nicholas,” Joseph chided. “Not after he has revealed his own to us.”

Steven blinked a few times before wincing. “Ah. My bad, Nicholas.”

          “Secret?”

“Yeah. I’m so used to brushing off questions about this that I just did it out of habit.” Steven shook his head. “They were powering their machine with a rock. But not a random rock. You said it was a meteorite?”

“Yeah. Actually, I have it right here.” Steven stepped around the desk to accept the meteorite when Nicholas pulled it out of his bag. “Bea tore it from the machine.”

Steven chuckled and gave the Metang a small nod. “Well done.” He turned back to Nicholas as Bea’s cheeks began to flush. “Tell me. How much of history do you know? I don’t mean human history. I mean the true history of the world.”

Nicholas flashed back to Celine’s lecture. “Probably more than I should.”

“Hm.” Steven stared at him for a bit before shrugging. “I’ll just take that as a secret you’re not willing to share. That’s fine. Are you aware that pokegirls existed before humanity did?”

          “Yes.”

“There are two major forces in this world,” Steven explained, “pokegirls and humans. Humanity is a bit stronger because of a pokegirl’s reliance on us, but that wasn’t always the case. Pokegirls existed just fine before we came along.”

“Sure, I get that,” Nicholas said.

“Now, pokegirls exist on a type of energy,” Steven continued. “It’s that energy that grants them power beyond their physical bodies, and it’s also the basis of all of our pokegirl technology. Pokeballs, healing machines, the storage systems, all of it acts on the base energy within a pokegirl. Something we, as humans, fundamentally lack.” He smiled slightly. “We call it primal energy.”

Nicholas blinked. “Primal, as in the primal legendaries?”

“Correct. Those ancient legendaries were overflowing with primal energy. Well, as creators of the land and sea I can understand why.” Steven cleared his throat. “On the other hand, humans have an energy of their own. It’s not one we can usually control, which has spawned countless theories, but… ah, this isn’t the time. It’s that energy within every human that allows us to control pokegirls. Their primal energy resonates with it. Because of that, it has many names, but the one I use…” Steven glanced down for a moment before returning to Nicholas. “Is origin energy.”

          “…Origin?”

“Origin, cosmic, eternal.” Steven chuckled. “I know it sounds a bit egotistic to name it that, but it is an energy that controls primal energy. It makes sense that it would be something more powerful.”

“And humans can’t usually consciously control this energy?” Nicholas asked.

          “No.”

“Why do humans have it? Why can it control primal energy - pokegirls? Why?” Nicholas asked. “You said you have theories, right? What are they?”

Steven sighed. “We’d be here all day discussing those theories, and they’re nothing without any evidence. Some mysteries in this world can never be solved.” He shrugged. “My best idea is that pokegirls were originally meant to be the dominant species on the planet, but their creator - and ours - decided that they were too powerful, and added a flaw. The feral state. To alleviate that flaw, they created humanity.”

          Nicholas nodded. “I see.”

“Just a theory, though,” Steven repeated. “Anyways, those are the two kinds of energy, one inherent to each species. Oh, there’s another reason I think my theory is correct, by the way,” Steven said. “Primal energy, pokegirl energy, is found not just in pokegirls, but flowing through the world itself.”

          Nicholas’ eyes widened. “Oh.”

“On the other hand the origin energy is only found within humans. Well, mostly.” Steven winced. “Humans are not without their own flaws. There is some origin energy tainting the earth now because of the actions of one of them.”

          “Another long story?”

“Yeah. I only know this much about it because of one of my contacts,” Steven explained. “I got in touch with him during my research into elemental stones. Essentially, primal energy will form those stones by transforming natural mineral deposits. So, of course, I started wondering what the other energy would do. The human energy.” Steven turned to Tetsu. “Tetsu, if you would?”

Tetsu nodded and glanced at Abby. The two stepped forwards, Abby unbuttoning her shirt and withdrawing her necklace while Tetsu began releasing the catches on her exoskeleton. “I discovered that a very, very rare type of gemstone is the result when origin energy is the cause.” Nicholas slowly nodded as he saw what each pokegirl was revealing. Abby’s necklace, set with a now familiar type of gemstone. A hollow in the center of Tetsu’s exoskeleton filled with a larger one. “These are unknown to most people. They’re called Mega Stones.”

“Morgana?” Nicholas looked back at the Kirlia. “Show him yours.”

Steven’s eyes widened when Morgana slipped her hand beneath her sundress and pulled out the stone she had received from Wally. “No way. You’ve found one?”

“Two, actually,” Nicholas replied, pulling out the blue stone he had received from the Draconid. He ignored Aria’s look when it appeared and held it out for Steven to inspect. “This one was a gift from the Draconid clan. I was told it held power for my dragon.” He nodded at Aria. “Her.”

“It holds power, all right,” Steven muttered. “What about hers? Your Kirlia?”

“It was found in the Rusturf Tunnel, I believe,” Nicholas said. “We only happened on it because it was discovered by the cousin of a friend of mine. He was given one too.”

Steven squinted at Nicholas. “This friend. Who are they?”

“His name is Wally. He lives in Verdanturf.”

Steven nodded slightly. “Got it. Well, these stones are the result of origin energy corruption. They’re unnatural. Without human interference they would have never come to be.” He sighed. “Essentially they give pokegirls the ability to use origin energy themselves.”

Nicholas looked down at the stone he was holding. “Whoa.”

“Of course they don’t work for just any pokegirl. They’re corrupted elemental stones, after all. The same way that those can give certain pokegirls a burst of primal energy and cause evolution, these Mega Stones can give certain pokegirls a burst of origin energy and cause… a type of evolution.” Steven shook his head. “It’s dangerous. Even for a pokegirl in tune with the stone used it can cause great pain and exhaustion.”

“Ah.” Nicholas looked back at Morgana. “Maybe you shouldn’t hold onto that, Morgana.”

Morgana quickly brought the stone back to her body. “No, Master. I feel fine.”

“The stone doesn’t just activate on its own,” Steven explained. “The energy that created it is gone. On its own, a Mega Stone is completely harmless.”

Nicholas turned back to him. “On its own.”

“Correct.” Steven nodded at the meteorite on the desk. “Elemental stones are the natural result of this world. What, then, do you think happens if that energy were to infuse into something not of this world?”

Nicholas glanced at the meteorite as well. “Since the other mismatch ‘corrupted’ the material I’d assume this one would do the same.”

“Precisely, in reverse. If an otherworldly material were to fall in an area teeming with primal energy, it would be infused by it and slowly be corrupted. And the ability it would grant would be the reverse as well.”

“That meteorite is from Meteor Falls,” Nicholas murmured. “The ancient home of the Draconid people and the location where Rayquaza, a primal legendary herself, first blessed them.” He looked up. “Meteor Falls must be absolutely saturated with primal energy.”

“Aye. It is. And because of that every meteorite that has fallen in the area is being corrupted into a new material.” Steven reached up to his lapel and pushed it forwards to highlight the object stuck there. “That material can be refined. Once it has been, the result is known as a Key Stone.”

Nicholas snorted. “Let me guess. It’s the key that unlocks a Mega Stone.”

          Steven chuckled. “Bingo.”

“In that case I can guess where the ‘surge of origin energy’ you were talking about comes from,” Nicholas grumbled. “Does it hurt?”

“Oh, incredibly,” Steven replied immediately. “A power that uses my very energy as fuel? As a creature that has never used that energy for anything other than living it nearly made me pass out the first time. I’ve gotten better over time, though. Nowadays it’s just very tiring.”

“Now you know this secret power,” Joseph rumbled. “Perhaps if you hadn’t rescued this meteorite too late we could have salvaged a Key Stone from it.”

“It’s completely drained then, father?” Steven asked. “I couldn’t quite tell.”

“Aye. It’s just a chunk of rock at this point,” Joseph replied. “Which worries me. True, Mt. Chimney hasn’t erupted. But Magma believed it would with the power in this stone. How much power was there? And if it didn’t trigger an eruption, then were they simply wrong? Or did something else occur?”

Steven straightened his jacket. “I’ll make sure to keep an eye on the area.”

“Perhaps that is all we can do.” Joseph turned to Nicholas. “There is one last question I have for you, Nicholas.”

          “Go ahead.”

“Who did you fight on that mountain?”

Nicholas grimaced. “He called himself the leader of the cult. Maxie. And the self-proclaimed leader of Aqua was there too, a man who called himself Archie.” His eyes unfocused as he went back through the memories. “The strength of their pokegirls… I believe them.”

“Those are the leaders all right.” Joseph exchanged a look with Steven. “Did the one you fought, Maxie, do anything… out of the ordinary?”

Nicholas frowned. “Maybe, right at the very end. After Bea had destroyed his machine, he… he started ranting. I remember something about the ‘energy of the earth’.”

“Well that definitely confirms that he knows about primal energy and was trying to harness it,” Joseph mused. “That’s all, though? He didn’t, say, start glowing as if he was a pokegirl about to evolve?”

“No-“ Nicholas stopped. In the last few seconds. Hadn’t he seen…? “Actually… Maybe. During his speech I thought I saw energy gathering along his arm.”

Joseph sighed and settled back. “I was hoping you weren’t going to say anything.”

          “What?”

“Part of the reason that the cults have grown so much has to do with those two men,” Steven explained. “We’ve been trying to figure out what makes them so special, and… well, we just discussed one of our fears.”

“He was preparing to activate a Mega Stone?”

“Potentially.” Steven shook his head. “Fuck. I’ve heard grunts talk about how their leaders are blessed by their respective god but I had just brushed it off as propaganda. If they have Mega Stones, no, more importantly if they have Key Stones, then it’s not just propaganda.”

Nicholas thought hard. “I don’t remember seeing a Mega Stone. And Maxie didn’t have anything like your pin.”

“The Mega Stone could have been anywhere on his pokegirl’s body. It could even have been inside her. As for the Key Stone, all that matters is the material. You can form it into just about anything. My pin is just what I chose to fit with my usual outfit.” Steven surveyed Nicholas. “If they have access to the power of mega evolution, you’ll need a Key Stone of your own to stand up to them.”

          “It’s that bad?”

“Think of it this way.” Steven gestured. “When Bea was a Beldum, what were her chances of defeating Tetsu?”

          Nicholas swallowed. “Zero.”

“A pokegirl infused with origin energy has the same power gap,” Steven said. “Perhaps a fully trained pokegirl, at a type advantage and with adequate support could stand some kind of chance. But that’s about it.”

Nicholas sat silently for a bit before turning to look at his harem. Their expressions caused him to turn back around and address Steven. “It doesn’t matter. Key Stone or not, I’m going after them.”

“Hm.” Steven smirked. “Right. Guess I’ll start searching for some infused material to make you a Key Stone with. I’d hate to send you in unprepared and get you killed.”

“I’ll figure out how to set these Mega Stones as well,” Nicholas said, looking back at Morgana and Aria. “It’ll have to be some way that they won’t easily get lost.”

“I’m sure your pokegirls will have an idea of what they want,” Steven replied. “If the stones are suitable, that is. When I finally found one that Tetsu took to she made it very clear that it was hers.”

“Heh. Morgana has done that to hers already.” Nicholas smiled at Aria. “We’ll see if this one works for you, all right?”

“One more warning, Nicholas,” Steven said as Nicholas got to his feet. “This power is dangerous. I mean it. If the pokegirl is unprepared, if the tamer is too weak, it can easily kill them. And if you and your pokegirl don’t share the right kind of bond together it could just not work at all. So promise me – even after I give you a Key Stone, you will not use it on a pokegirl that can’t handle the power.”

Nicholas frowned. “How will I know the difference?”

“First of all, I would highly recommend not trying to force the process,” Steven said. “If it doesn’t feel right then that’s a good indication that it’s not. Beyond that, I wouldn’t attempt mega evolution on anything other than a fully evolved pokegirl. That means Morgana and Aria aren’t ready.”

Nicholas nodded. “Because their bodies aren’t fully evolved from primal energy. The origin energy has a higher chance of harming them.”

          “Precisely.”

“I’ll remember that. What about the bond?”

“That’s something much more subjective,” Steven continued, “and it’s something where I can’t tell you whether you’re ready or not. You and your pokegirls need to be so close as to be indistinguishable on a spiritual level, essentially. Otherwise the energy will tear at the parts of each of you that don’t match.”

“Anything that sticks out will be sanded away,” Nicholas summarized.

“Exactly. You’d still be able to do it, probably, but it would cause much more pain and potentially long-term damage if you forced a link before it’s ready.”

Nicholas reached out to shake Steven’s hand. “Thank you for the advice and the information. Will you teach me the techniques when it’s time?”

Steven released him. “No. I’ve given you everything you need, once I create your Key Stone. I’m sorry, but this power really is dependent on the wielder. If you can’t figure out how to activate it on your own then it’s not meant for you.”

          Nicholas nodded slightly. “Got it.”

“I’ll walk Nicholas out of the building,” Steven called back to Abby and Joseph. “Is that all right with you, Abby?”

Abby bowed. “Of course, young Master.”

Steven sighed as he watched Tetsu lead Nicholas and his harem to the elevator. “Now where am I going to find infused meteorite.”

Joseph cleared his throat. “I still have mine, son.”

Steven waited for a few seconds before looking back. “Are you sure?”

“I haven’t been able to evolve Abby for a decade,” Joseph replied quietly. “My mind is willing, but my flesh is weak. I simply don’t have enough energy for her to feed on anymore.” He smiled sadly. “I’m glad I made the mistakes so you and he won’t have to. You are the next generation to lead this world, after all.”

Steven turned and came to attention. After a moment he bowed. “Thank you, President Stone.”

“Bah.” Joseph waved Steven off. “Go see him out and then get back here so we can start our work.”

          “In here.”

Morgana and Aria followed Nicholas inside the jewelry shop, each with their respective Mega Stone clasped between their hands. He’d handed Aria hers a few minutes after leaving the Devon building and she’d immediately begun handling it in the same way Morgana was with hers. That had chased away any doubt as to whether it was ‘compatible’.

“Pick a setting each of you would like,” Nicholas called back as they approached the counter. “And if jewelry isn’t what you want let me know. We could do gloves, or weave it into your clothing, or-“

“A necklace, Master,” Morgana interrupted. “One with a fine chain so I can hide it under my dress.”

          Nicholas nodded. “Got it.”

Morgana stood silently as he talked with the attendant. Only a fully evolved pokegirl could handle the power in this strange gem, master Steven had said. A pokegirl full of this, ‘primal energy’ he had spoken of.

She was full of that energy already. It filled her to the brim, so much she felt like she was about to burst. She had felt it ever since leaving her sister behind again. Ever since arriving in this city. For a moment there seemed to be more light reflecting from her than the lights in the store could provide before she screwed her eyes shut and the faint glow faded. She couldn’t. Couldn’t let it happen. She didn’t know what would come. How she would change again.

          She was afraid.

Nicholas turned back to see Morgana standing all scrunched up. “Morgana? Can I have the stone?”

Morgana’s eyes popped open with a gasp. “Ah! M-Master, yes, here.”

Nicholas accepted the gem and handed it to the jeweler before turning back to look at Morgana. “You okay?”

Morgana’s fingers pressed into the skin of her arms. “I… am fine, Master.”

“No you’re not.” Morgana trembled but Nicholas turned away from her. “If you don’t want to share then that’s fine. I won’t pry.”

Morgana lowered her face, her teeth clenched in a grimace. Afraid. So afraid.

She didn’t want to be what she was. She never had. She never… wanted to evolve again. Maybe if she remained this way, scrawny, weak, she could pretend that the brimming power eating away at her insides wasn’t there.

“And you, Aria?” Nicholas asked the Swablu. “What were you thinking?”

Aria inspected her gemstone before holding it out with a crafty smile. “Crown, my Lord. I wish to wear this beautiful symbol in a symbol of my own.”

“No.” Aria’s mouth popped open in surprise when she heard Nicholas’ immediate reply. “Nice try, but no.”

“Then… a tiara, Lord?” Aria asked hopefully.

“Hmm.” Nicholas pondered her request. “I suppose a plain tiara is fine. They probably do them here.”

An hour later the three walked back outside. Morgana now sported a delicate chain necklace and Aria was excitedly admiring the fit of a similarly delicate silver tiara. Both pieces of jewelry were set with their Mega Stones front and center.

“Right! Let’s get on with the next agenda item for the day.” Nicholas grinned. “Last time we were here Morgana we didn’t even give the gym a chance. I think today we’ll take their badge instead.”

Morgana let out a shuddering breath. “Yes, Master.”

“You’re sure you’re up for it?”

Morgana raised a hand to her necklace. “This power, we must be stronger for it, right Master? Then, a gym battle is necessary.” She grimaced. No, she didn’t want to evolve. But she needed to. But she didn’t want to. But-

Morgana jumped and looked back up to see Nicholas smiling at her with a hand on her arm. “Morgana, you’ve always done this. If you’re not comfortable then say something. I can always take you out of the fight.”

Always… Always… Morgana’s clenched fists tightened even further. Yes, he’d always offered. She’d always had the option to walk away.

She was barely paying attention as Nicholas led them to the Rustboro gym. The cavernous interior hinted at the type specialty but Nicholas checked his pokedex anyways. “Rocks. Let’s see, that means Aria, you’re out… I’ll be relying mostly on Bea and Elaine…” He turned to look at Morgana. “You’ll be the first backup, Morgana. Can I count on you?”

Just like he’d always offered Elaine.

In Morgana’s mind’s eye, that moment in Lavaridge played. Elaine, catching her attention. Inviting her in. And the peace she had felt from a mind that had once overwhelmed her in pain.

          “Morgana?” Nicholas repeated.

Tears began to build in Morgana’s eyes. “Master,” she croaked. “You’ve always, always tried to let me… be me.”

“Yes. Yes, Morgana, I have,” Nicholas whispered, capturing her hands between his. “I’m moving too fast. Forcing you too much, aren’t I? I’m sorry, you can rest today.”

Morgana’s tears began to run down her face. “No.”

Nicholas came to a halt. “No?”

“Elaine,” Morgana choked out. “You dummy. You are so much stronger than me.”

Before Nicholas could question what she meant he’d been blinded. The light that exploded from Morgana’s skin was so brilliant he literally could not tell if his eyes were open or closed. If he moved to shut his eyelids the bright white scene in front of him didn’t change.

Raw emotion filled the air when Morgana screamed. Nicholas couldn’t see but he could still feel, and hear. He could feel Morgana’s fingers tightening around his. Painfully so. Her scream, combined with the grip she had on him, could only mean one thing.

As a Ralts, Morgana had relied on her tamer, her Master, to feed her with emotion. Whatever he felt, she had felt. After evolving into a Kirlia she had begun developing emotions of her own, but the bond between them had not gone away. Often times she had found herself masturbating unconsciously simply because her tamer was with another pokegirl.

That bond was still fully in effect. And Nicholas felt as Morgana’s own, personal emotions flooded to him for the first time.

Grief. Fear. He was nearly overcome before he realized there was another there. One so powerful that even the tiny sliver that existed was enough to drown out the waves of negativity pulsing from Morgana.

          Hope.

It was a feedback loop. As Nicholas experienced Morgana’s emotions she felt them from him. They returned to her, strengthening before pulsing back into Nicholas. This vicious cycle threatened to destroy them both until Morgana felt the waves of fear and grief from Nicholas simply… vanish.

Nicholas clung to the sliver of hope as hard as he could. Morgana’s hope. For what, exactly, he couldn’t know. These were simply emotions, not memories. Not thoughts. But he knew that she needed hope in this moment. So he clung to it, shutting out the rest, and only allowing hope to shine for Morgana.

The well of power inside of Morgana had long since filled past its capacity. So the well grew. As fear loosened its hold, and hope took its place, the shackles Morgana had placed on herself loosened as well.

Nicholas choked when something soft smashed into his face and he was sent reeling backwards. He still couldn’t see, but by turning away slightly he could now at least make out up from down. And he felt the hope he was holding for Morgana return to him tenfold.

It was divine. The pure ecstasy he felt radiating from Morgana was beyond anything he’d ever felt. It was… power. The power of a pokegirl known to control the very emotions around her.

Within the light, Morgana felt her clothing squeezing her body. This time she let it happen. It didn’t matter, because her fear was gone. As her mind, once starved by fear, fed on the beautiful, wonderful feelings of her Master, she felt her dress break apart.

In Johto, Miyuki had taken Nicholas during her own evolution. At the time, he had worried that by doing so he might harm her. That had not happened then. But that had been because Miyuki was not a pokegirl that drew power from the emotions around her. She only had her own strength and the strength of her conviction. Morgana had a feedback loop of endless energy to feed on.

The snapping of Morgana’s dress could be heard clearly even through Morgana’s cry. It, too, had changed thanks to Nicholas’ efforts. From raw emotion to one clearly of joy, Morgana screamed. And sobbed. And the brilliant white light snuck inside, to the chains Morgana had clamped over her soul, and melted them away until there was no longer any indecision, no longer any fear. All that remained was the pure essence… of who Morgana knew she was meant to be.

Nicholas was seeing spots as the evolution continued. It had to have been at least a minute at this point and Morgana still showed no signs of slowing down. “A-Aria?”

          “Lord?”

          “You okay over there?”

“I… I am, Lord,” Aria called from her position closer to the door. She could sense the pokegirl within the light changing. A lot. “Lord, is this normal? She appears to be taking… a while.”

“Not especially.” Nicholas folded his hands and waited. “But that’s okay. Morgana can have all the time she needs.”

Morgana felt the quiet acceptance join with the sea of endless hope that filled her and she laughed. Not just in her own mind but also on the outside, her joyous scream transitioning slowly to wonderous laughter. Nicholas felt his heart skip when he heard the sound and he clasped his hands even tighter, willing Morgana to receive everything he felt. All of his affection. Out of every pokegirl he had brought into his life, his harems, and every evolution he had ever experienced, this one was special. Perhaps because of her innate abilities. No, especially because of them.

Morgana drifted, her mouth opened wide and eyes sparkling as they stared into the distance. The wonderous golden ocean she floated in was filling now with other colors, silver, copper, shimmering blues and reds and every color between. And finally, as the oceans of power calmed, she realized that she was no longer ready to burst. Even with the endless power flowing through her she felt… at peace.

Nicholas was blinking hard when he noticed the light beginning to fade. He still couldn’t make out the form inside the light and rubbed his eyes in an attempt to clear them. “Morgana?” He called. “Can you hear me?”

He was still trying to get his vision back when he heard footsteps from Morgana’s direction. He reached out a hand, smiling when he felt a hand catch it. “There you are.” He frowned slightly. The sound he had heard when she walked forwards had been… “Hey, did you make your clothes vanish again? I didn’t hear your shoes.”

“Can you not see me, Master?”

Nicholas blinked a few more times. He could see something in front of him but it was hard to make out anything definitive. His vision was just one massive blur. “Not really. That is you, right Morgana? Your voice sounds different.”

Morgana looked down at herself. “It is me, Master.” Tears beaded in her eyes again as she looked at him with a happy smile. “It’s… really me.”

“Your evolution was blinding,” Nicholas grumbled, still working to recover. “Seriously. Last time you exploded, this time you went supernova.”

Morgana began laughing. “Supernova, Master? What is that?”

“Oh, an astronomy term.” Nicholas blinked, hard, and finally looked in her direction when he realized he could see shapes again. “It’s when a star…”

The massive blur was unchanged. Morgana towered over him, her laughing face at least a foot above his own.

          “…explodes,” Nicholas finished.

Morgana brought her other hand to hold Nicholas’ as well when she saw the look of wonder on his face. “You can see me now, Master?” she asked happily. “How do I look?”

Nicholas tried to step back but it was futile. Morgana kept a firm grip on his hand. “Well…” his eyes dropped back to a neutral position. To the nipples in front of him, and the absolutely massive pair of breasts they were on.

This was insane. He’d become like Gwen, when the Ralts had been standing in front of Morgana as a Kirlia. A child in comparison to the stunning figure in front of him. It wasn’t just her breasts that were big, either. Everywhere he looked Morgana had gained curves. Curves on curves, in the case of her ass and thighs. The only comparison his stalling brain could make was to the legendary Ho-oh, the first time he had seen her drop her kimono. Morgana had abandoned her gangly proportions in favor of a body that triggered every reproductive instinct he had.

“Well?” Morgana asked with bated breath.

“…you’ve grown,” Nicholas replied lamely. “Uh, wow. What in the world is this? What happened to you?”

He could see the shredded remains of her sundress hanging from a few places on her naked body as Morgana dropped to one knee. “This is what I am,” she whispered, fresh tears glistening in her eyes. “I don’t know why I tried to stop it. This is what I was meant to be.”

“…Okay.” Nicholas finally managed to worm his hand free and took a few steps back. There was no way this kind of growth was normal. “Okay. Sure. But how did it happen?”

Morgana’s face lit up. “You showed me, Master. When I became a Kirlia, I… I was afraid. I kept myself from becoming what I should always have been. Thank you, Elaine.” Nicholas blinked when he realized Morgana was addressing the pokeball hanging from his belt. “You opened my eyes to what Master had been trying to give me from the beginning.”

          “Morgana…”

Morgana brushed a few strands of her old sundress from her skin before bowing her head. Shimmering light covered her, the last few bits of the old dress melting away before a new one took form. Nicholas felt his breath catch when he saw the black cloth spreading across Morgana’s body and when she raised her head again he couldn’t help but laugh.

“Told you I’d get you into that someday.”

Morgana nodded. Somehow she had dressed herself in the silky black slit dress Nicholas had snuck into her changing room, all those months ago, just south in Petalburg. A much, much longer version, of course, but the design was unmistakable.

“This is what I am,” Morgana repeated. “It’s not something to be afraid of, is it, Master? It has never been. I’ve simply been a fool.”

“Oh, Morgana,” Nicholas whispered. With her on one knee he was at least close to her height again. “You’ve never been a fool, can’t you see? I’ve simply been waiting for you to become what you wanted to be.”

“You refused to force me, Master,” Morgana whispered back. She kissed the top of his head before wrapping him in her arms. “But because you did, I was so confused. I couldn’t tell what I wanted. What I should do. But I understand, now. Thanks to Elaine, I understand.” She firmly pressed his body between her breasts. “I may have the choice to leave. To walk away. But I refuse it, Master. I will be at your side, and I will fight.” She extended one hand, white elbow length gloves shimmering into view after a moment, and smiled. Nicholas couldn’t see her face, or what she was doing, but Morgana didn’t care about that. She was showing herself. As the light crossing her palm began to warp her smile grew hard. “My time for indecision is past. I am a pokegirl. I am Master’s pokegirl. It is time for me to act as one.” She blinked when she felt Nicholas struggle, closing her hand and snuffing out the energy that had been building. “Master?”

          “MMPH!”

“Master?” Morgana released her grip to allow a gasping Nicholas to escape her cleavage. “Are you all right?”

“You- you were suffocating me with your chest!” Nicholas cried, his eyes wild. “Be more careful!”

Morgana blinked a few times before a predatory smile spread from ear to ear. “Oh, my,” she purred, and Nicholas’ heart sank when he saw her get to her feet. He’d almost forgotten her true height after the evolution but he was quickly reminded of it now. “How can I apologize, Master?”

“That won’t be necessary…” Nicholas whimpered when Morgana wrapped her arms over his back and drew him tightly against her body. “Morgana…”

“I insist,” Morgana breathed in his ear. “Do you remember, Master? Why you gave me my name?”

“Ahaha.” Nicholas felt sweat beading on his face as he stared up at Morgana’s smile. He felt a different kind of fear now. “Are you going to, uh, remind me?”

It was terrifying to see Morgana’s predatory smile spread to her eyes at his rhetorical question. “Yes.”

Aria was left staring out the door when Morgana swept Nicholas away and towards a building in the distance. Shaking herself she hurried after them, letting the gym door swing itself shut.

This is insane! Nicholas panted as he continued to thrust. This is insane! Morgana moaned in pleasure when he came again, adding another load to the brimming creampie. THIS IS INSANE!

“Mas~ter~” Nicholas grunted when Morgana slammed him against her body. Every time he even thought about trying to escape she pulled him back in. There was nothing he could do to resist her.

“Mmm.” Nicholas felt Morgana pulling him further up her body and he coughed when his face was stuffed into one of her breasts. “You must be tired, Master. Here’s a pillow.” She giggled at her own joke before wrapping an arm around his body to prevent escape and walking the other to his groin. Nicholas’ moans were muffled by the mountain of flesh he was being pressed up against but the result was easy to see as Morgana stroked his cock. He’d barely started to soften when her touch brought him right back to full mast.

“Oh!” Morgana drew her hand back in surprise when Nicholas came all over her pubes. “Master, Master, you can’t do that! Inside, Master, inside!”

“I’ve finally met my match,” Nicholas thought to himself as Morgana continued berating him with a childlike pout on her face. Not that he could see it. He was still stuffed against one of her enormous breasts. “Sex incarnate? Yeah. Sounds about right…

“I have to apologize for hitting you with my boobs when I evolved, you know,” Morgana said in a conversational tone. “I mean, it’s not my fault they went boi-oi-oing! like that and smacked you, but I still have to make it right, don’t I? Hey, but you have to hold it while I do, Master. I don’t want to get all sticky.” Her innocent expression flipped lewd as she brought her fingers back to his twitching dick. “Okay? Oh-OOOOOH!” Morgana’s back arched and she cried out excitedly before squeezing Nicholas in a bear hug. “OOOOH MASTER! YES!”

Nicholas’ tongue was working for its life as he desperately pleasured the nipple that had found its way into his mouth. Enough was enough. He might not be in control but he wasn’t going to just let her bully him.

It was this second wind that pushed Nicholas through the night but even it wasn’t enough to stand up to Morgana’s new body. Eventually she felt him go limp on top of her and she carefully lifted Nicholas’ head. The man was out cold.

Morgana let him settle back onto her stomach and relaxed with a sigh. The truth was, she’d been satisfied ages ago. But something had continued to drive her forward. Maybe it was the feeling of her new body, the feeling of her Master penetrating something that was finally, truly her. Without reservation.

Morgana tenderly stroked Nicholas’ cheek. She hoped he wouldn’t be mad at her in the morning.
