Dogpatch, morning after Sadie Pokén's closing ceremony

The Sadie Pokén's week celebration had been a rousing success. Pokégirls and tamers started clearing out the previous night but everyone had until noon to check their boxes before any girls left were sent into league storage. Marco and the rest of Avalanche were still on site to make sure there weren't any issues but with the area almost empty there was nothing else to do but wander around.

After Angelica's surprise visit Isabella sent her drones out to help keep an eye on things. They weren't expecting anyone to come after Marco there but the experience was still an eye opener. It wasn't that they weren't being vigilant but if it had been anyone else Marco could have been killed before they could react.

With the grounds finally empty they were about to leave. That was until Marco noticed he still had the red button given to him at the start of the festival. As he got closer to the registration area he caught sight of a large group of Officerjennies standing around. One spotted him then whispered to another before running off.

Marco noticed the amused tension in the air but thought nothing of it as he took off his button. The Cherub Candice was a giggling fit upon seeing him walk up but he let it go, knowing the Cherub to be quirky and full of playful energy at all times. "Afternoon Candice."

Still giggling she waved back. "Afternoon Marco, all done for the week?"

"Yep, another great Sadie Pokén's. Did you have a good time?"

"I always do. What about you, did you meet any good pokégirls out there?" She asked with a muffled laugh.

"Said hi to a few but nothing major." His eyes narrowing as a sense of impending dread seemed to pass through him.

The Cherub was outright laughing now, pounding her fist on the table as she couldn't hold back any longer. "That just makes this part all the better." She turned the holo-screen to face him as she ran his badge through the reader. A few seconds went by and his box showed a single pokéball inside.

Marco's face held a slack jawed expression. "You're fuckin with me right?" He'd gone out of his way not to attract any attention to himself and with a red button most pokégirls avoided him like the plague. "Who would be so stupid?"

"Don't be like that; I'm sure you did something to catch her attention. Or maybe she was just running out of time and didn't want to be given to the league. Either way she's all yours now."

An OfficerJenny retrieved the pokéball from the box and handed it to him before walking back to join the others. Marco was quick to scan the ball and gave a slight smirk when he saw the breed. "Now this I'm not going to complain about. I'm still going to question her judgment though."

Candice chocked back her laughter but kept a large grin. "So... what ya get?"

"I'm not telling. Since you thought this was amusing you get to wonder what she is." He said with a laugh. "Now I'm going home."

"Just as well. You all have a good day and thanks again for the help."

"You too Candi."

A short teleport later they were all back home. It had snowed while they were away but melted again leaving the ground moist. Off over the horizon more clouds were rolling in. The group quickly dispersed to do their own things while Kelly and the harem stayed to greet the new girl.

In a flash of light the girl manifested before them. Long brown hair and red eyes hidden behind dark glasses she stood at a height of 5'10. Her frame was slender and head was held low. Slowly she looked around to take stock of the people around her. It was clear that the male was a human and given the amount of women around they were pokégirls.

At first sight with Marco she backed up slightly then with shaky hands pulled a piece of paper from her pocket and began to read. "Um... Hi, my name is Quinn. I'm originally from Celaboner City and traveled to Dogpatch with my former tamer. I'm fairly well educated and am willing to perform any task that you ask of me. I'll do my best to be a pokégirl worth keeping around... um... please don't get rid of me." She rattled off as quickly as she could before finishing with a bow.

Needless to say Marco and the others were speechless. Without saying a word he stuck his hand out and took the paper when she handed it to him. He gave it a quick read then scratched his head as he looked the girl up and down. "Yep, that's what is says."

"Master?"

"Marco."

"Master Marco?"

"Just Marco."

"Just Marco Master?"

"Yes, drop the master just call me Marco."

"Ok Master, Master Marco... Marco." She stumbled.

"Yes?"

"What?" She asked with a puzzled look.

"You had a question?"

"Did I?"

He was starting to wonder just how well educated she really was. "I don't know, did you?"

"Um... yes, I think. Yes, wait... no, I thought you had a question for me."

"Ooooh yeah, and the more we talk the more questions come to mind. First and foremost when was the last time you were tamed?"

Quinn blushed bright red and hid her face behind her hands. "Last night, Tamers Paradise."

"Riiiight, how old are you and why did you leave your last tamer?

"My last tamer didn't treat me very well... there was a lot of fighting and... hitting. Not just him but the other girls in the harem too. When I was released they said I was free to choose any tamer I wanted and could go with them. I'm twenty-two." She explained quickly while breaking eye contact.

Pokégirls like her were one of the main reasons behind Sadie Pokén's Day as far as Marco was concerned. He reached out slowly and placed a gentle hand against her cheek. "Well you’re safe from him now. But assuming you were paying attention when they went over the color coding for the buttons, why did you pick me?"

She looked puzzled for a second then remembered what he may have been talking about. "The buttons? Oh yeah, the buttons, I was paying attention. I saw you talking to pokégirls and kits and none of them were running from you so I thought the psychics may have made a mistake in their assessment... I'm not wrong am I?" She finished with a wince.

Chesra let out a laugh and gave her a pat on the shoulder. "Not mistaken, Marco can be rough around the edges but he's one of the good ones."

Quinn backed away from the Archangel on instinct and held herself. "Oh that's good, yeah... good. I'm sorry; I didn't get your name."

"Chesra; that's Jean, Bernadette, Henrietta, Carrie, Ashley, and Kelly." She explained while pointing where they were standing. Her brow furrowed as she watched Quinn grab at her arm. "They abused you a lot didn't they?"

Quinn could feel her heart start to race as the eyes stared back at her. She was about to speak when Marco cleared his throat to get everyone's attention. "You all go and get ready for training. I'll take Quinn here to see Alex. After that we'll get her fitted for a uniform and see about dinner. Carrie, go to the vault and see if we have a code yet." The rest of the harem nodded and left to do as instructed leaving Quinn and Marco staring back and forth at each other. He put on his best smile and motioned for her to follow him.

Just as she was about to leave Ashley turned back to face them. "By the way, what breed of pokégirl are you?"

Quinn pointed to herself before she realized she was the only one that question would be directed to. "I'm an Airmaiden."

"That's enough questions for now Ashe, get moving." Marco spoke causing the Peekabu to nod and run off. "Feel better now?"

"Yes Master umph Marco. Thank you."

"Good. Aside from training none of them will ever hurt you. With exceptions to Chesra and Henrietta they all know from experience what it's like to be in your situation, so you're among friends."

The Airmaiden nodded weakly and continued to follow behind her new master. Something about how he spoke made her feel better about her decision. "So this is where you all live... it's nice."

"Just wait till you see the inside. There are going to be a lot more pokégirls and all of them are like family to me. If you need anything just let us know." He continued on then turned to look at her. "Are you one of the flying Airmaidens?"

"Yes, I can fly...  kind of. Is that bad?"

"... You were a threshold weren't you?"

Her eyes went wide then cast towards the ground in shame. "I'd... I'd rather not talk about that right now."

Marco shrugged and turned back to head inside, holding the door open for her to enter. "That's fine for now, but eventually I'll want to learn more about you."

"I'll try to be more open. Who's Alex?"

"Alexis is our resident medic and therapist, any issues you have she can help you through."

Alexis was one of the few non-betas to have a personal room. Not that she slept there; when someone needed to get something off their chest she would see them in that office. As a professional she always kept the meetings confidential unless Marco was sending them to her for specific reasons and needed feedback.

Marco knocked lightly and opened the door. Pictures of various locations covered the walls along with several harmless looking weapons. Also taking up an exceptional part of each wall was her private reading collection. She had books of every size, subject, and reading level and would lend them out freely to those in need of a quiet way to escape. The Cherub was sitting quietly, reading a book and balancing a dagger on the tip of her finger. Her wings fluttered behind her as she looked up and with a smile she sheathed the blade.

"Colonel? Have you come for me already?" She said, half joking half serious. "So this is the new addition to your harem, cute."

"Alexis, meet Quinn. She's fresh out of a rough harem and could use someone to talk to. I'm leaving her in your capable hands."

The eyes of the Cherub fell slightly when she heard. She had to go through the same thing with Carrie and Ashley as well and no matter how many times she did it it always depressed her. "Not a problem Sir. Have a seat wherever you like and we'll get started."

Quinn gave a slightly quizzical look and hesitantly walked inside. "I'm not sure I want to do this."

Alexis looked at Marco and Marco looked to Quinn. "This is one of the few times where I won't be giving you a choice. Alex, she's all yours." He spoke firmly as he left and closed the door behind him.

From there he made his way towards the vault. He honestly wasn't expecting much progress to be made from Carrie asking Ronda but it didn't hurt to check. Upon entering he could see the Mistress holding her sword with her eyes closed in intense concentration. The area around her shimmered violently as power flowed through the blade.

The Mistress's voice was low and firm as she spoke. "I trust you've had plenty of time to think on our last meeting."

Ronda's voice was just as harsh as ever but Carrie could tell that the spirit had given up hope. "Yes Mistress, I know the access codes to his dex and will give them to you."

"That's a wise decision, the code please."

Marco had gone to the drawer where Evan's pokédex was being held and entered the code as he heard it spoken. A few minutes went by as the programs initialized. It immediately began looking for a suitable connection to update its programs but with the vault being radio shielded it couldn't find one. The first thing he tried to access were the data files but already he found a problem.

"Well the dex is unlocked but the files are also encrypted. Carrie, if you please."

She clenched the sword tightly in her hand. Once again orange tinted energy began to form and explode off the blade. "The encryption code!"

"I don't know it, I swear. Please just let me go." Ronda groaned in pain.

Marco waved it off and clipped the pokédex to his belt. "It's fine Carrie; Isabella should be able to take things from here. Thank you for your cooperation Ronda."

"Why thank me, I don't have a choice in any of this. I'm stuck in Limbo, I can't die and be with my sister and I can't leave this accursed sword."

"When our job is done I'll talk to her about releasing you from the sword."

"Couldn't you just command her to do it?"

"He could but he won't. My Master doesn't operate in such a manner. Now be silent." She said before sheathing the blade.

"Go ahead and meet up with the others, I'll be out shortly." From the vault it was a short walk to Isabella's tech station. The Mecha Musume was hard at work going over plans to improve her drones when he entered the room. "Bella, whatever you're doing put it on hold. I have a special project I want all your rescores devoted to."

It wasn't often that Marco came to her with a specific job to be done. She was normally given free rein to work as she saw fit and was elated that he came to her personally. "Of course Colonel, what do you need?"

He unclipped the pokédex from his belt and set it down next to her computer. "We've unlocked Domico's pokédex but the files are encrypted. I want you to get us access to every file and program on this thing." His regular tone became harsher as he continued to speak. "I mean everything; every file, folder, picture, program, and document. I want every kilobyte of space accounted for; understood? If you need help ask for it, if necessary call for assistance from the Tech Division but I want it all."

The short girl swallowed hard and nodded. She knew that when he got like that failure wasn't an option. "Yes Sir, I'll run a preliminary scan and mark up a time table for opening the entire system. I also need to be careful in the event that it has viruses installed. A shadow version of my system should activate any of those with minimal risk of corrupting the real thing. Um... am I on a deadline?"

"No, I want it done right not fast. You take all the time you need but I'll be expecting daily progress updates. Can you handle it?"

"Time is all I need."

One Island, Haures residence

Alphonso had been in recovery since Andzral brought him back. The group discovered that stabbing someone with a prison toothbrush apparently leads to some serious infections. His fever had finally broken and he was resting comfortably. True to her word Andzral had dropped Sarah off at her hometown's pokécenter. The OfficerJenny would be busy for days trying to relay exactly what happened to her.

Now that Haures was home they could move on to more important matters. Mr. G had been thoroughly pissed about the information Haures let slip before his incarceration. All the same the former politician's services had been profitable until being sent after Readman so special considerations could be made.

Haures's harem wasn't the best in the world either. That being known, Andzral had come the closest of anyone attempting to accomplish Mr. G's task. There was also the chance of finding Delilah, yet another efficient worker for Team Rocket.

As always the man sat in shadows. No one knew but he was also getting grief for the amount of failures and the accrued cost for this personal venture. "Haures, you've managed to survive prison. What kind of resources are at your disposal?"

"I still have my personal harem. I heard that Domico fell and Angelica's been given reign over the Breakers."

"Yeah... Angelica, I'm starting to question my decision to put her in charge."

"I don't see why. I thought she was brutally efficient when it came to accomplishing missions."

"She's supposed to be, there's something different though. That's not important; right now I need some kind of headway made on Readman. What can you do?"

Just as Haures was about to answer Andzral teleported in looking quite pleased with herself. "We still have our base Master. None of the security counter measures were tripped so we can go back whenever you like."

Haures nodded and took the offered data pad from the Bondage Elf. "Excellent work, the vast majority of my contacts and information was kept there. Without my old job I won't have anywhere near as much pull as I used to. If I can get Delilah back though then we'll still be able to operate on an aggressive front."

"Delilah, that's the Dark Queen right? She comes back you send her to Angelica. Between the two of them we shouldn't have any problems taking care of Readman." Spoke Mr. G.

"Unfortunately it doesn't work like that." Haures started, waiting only to see if he would be interrupted before he continued. "Delilah is freelance. I can offer suggestions but she acts of her own accord. I don't know where she is and even if I can find her there's a chance she'll be unwilling to work with Angelica."

"Have you tried just bashing her over the head and taming her into compliance."

"That thought did cross my mind but..."

"But I advised against it." Andzral cut in. "A Dark Queen is dangerous, plain and simple. Delilah trust no one; she's aware of everything, and any attempts to coheres her physically she deals with in a swift and brutal manner. She killed the one that alerted us to her presence in the first place so for the sake of keeping my master alive we don't cross her."

"What she said. When it comes down to it Delilah is an information broker. She's got a pretty wide net of contacts and knows how to find things so we'll do what we can from our end. If we can get a hold of her and she's willing to help then good for us."

Light flashed behind Mr. G and for a short while his face could be seen. He was young, far younger than anyone would have guessed. His face showed his rage quite clearly and made Haures swallow in apprehension. "Readman, that son of a bitch says he's done fucking around and is going to be coming for me now. Evan died and lost his pokédex, I'm not sure if they've gotten it open yet or accessed the files but that threat is very real. My... Boss... is displeased as well. He's furious at the resources I've devoted to this one person and the damage he's managed to do to our organization. He wants me to cut our losses and leave Readman alone. Well I'm not so forgiving! I want him dead! I want his harem on their knees in front of me! Each of them will pay for the sins of their master in spades! I want his family destroyed! I will kill his father and brothers then Love Ball and fuck his mother and sisters! I'll have those whores passed around Team Rocket like currency then I'll make sure I can find the worst most sadistic tamers the world has to offer and give them away with a bow on top! But not before I have them impregnated and murder their children before their very eyes!"

Mr. G was set to continue on his tirade but Andzral had more important things to do. Haures was of the same opinion and interrupted to move things along. "Sir, you put me in charge and you'll have the revenge you want."

"Angelica gets her shot at Readman and if she fails you take over. I'll want Andzral taking point in any operation you green light and you find Delilah. I don't care when or how but get it done."

The video link disconnected leaving Haures and Andzral looking at a blank screen. Haures sat back in his chair and wiped his brow. "He is pissed."

"His boss must have jumped down his throat to tear him a new asshole. Still, that wasn't the thing that bugged me the most about that conversation. You saw the face right?"

"Yeah, that bothered me too. It's not our place to ask questions though. Kaia!" He called from over his shoulder.

The Mousewife strolled in and took a seat on his lap. A little suggestive wiggling later she was comfortable and looked up with a smile. "How can I be of service?"

"Tell everyone to get packed; we're heading back to the base. The second we get back I want you trying to find Delilah. With any luck she hasn’t changed her contact information. Andy, I need you to contact Angelica and Chuck. She still has control of the Breakers but I'm going to suggest a joint operation."

"I haven't seen Angelica in ages. She'd been rough around the edges ever since what Evan did. What if she declines the joint operation?" Andzral asked.

"She was willing to work with him; we're a lot easier to get along with. It does bother me that Readman is going on the attack though. For the time being I'm going to continue to hang in the shadows... not that I have much of a choice."

Kaia let out a slight pout and got off his lap. "I'll get everyone started. I'm sure Tessa will be excited to go into battle again." Turning her head slightly she glanced at the desk, Chesra's hammer sat there alongside Andzral's empty sheath. "Scores to settle all around."

Avalanche HQ

The harems training session was short and sweet just to get back in the swing of things. Marco didn't need to attend the session, trusting Henrietta and Chesra to keep them straight. With everything that was going on it would give him time to plan his next gym battle, and this gym battle was also going to give him the opportunity to test Team Rockets mettle.

Kasumi had finally gotten her date during Sadie Pokén's day and agreed to use her contacts to help with his plan. It amused him slightly to see how compliant she was during pillow talk. His plan was simple yet devious and if all went the way it was supposed to he was going to cause a lot of chaos. It was while he was going over plans for the next gym battle when the door to his office opened.

Alexis strolled in looking quite perturbed. In her hand was a small folder with Quinn's name on it. "Leave it to you to attract an oddball."

Looking up from his papers he clicked a few more times on his pokédex and sat back. "I guess she's joining the club then. How'd the session go?"

"Congratulations on finding an Airmaiden with the Blank Mind blood gift."

That got his attention. "Blank Mind blood gift? What's her background?"

The Cherub pulled up a stool to keep from having to cramp her wings then flipped open the folder. "Formerly a human and tamer; she was transformed by another tamer using water from the Jusenkyo Spell Dump. She ended up killing him in a burst of anger."

"Serves the bastard right."

"Agreed. Anyway, with no tamers around she eventually went feral and was caught by another tamer. Due to the nature of her becoming a pokégirl she didn't like the way she was being treated, her tamer and his harem didn't like her attitude and... well you know how things progress from there. Because of that blood gift I couldn't just enter her mind and help her sort through everything. She's shy, skittish, meek, and absolutely adorable."

Marco let out a chuckle and went to the Airmaiden entry in his pokédex. It was a breed that he always wanted to get his hands on but just never got around to it. After watching Carrie get tossed around during the gym battle his passion for the breed was rekindled. "I guess I'll leave it to Chesra and Rietta to get a read on her combat skill tomorrow. Where is she now?"

Much like Kelly, Alexis had let her hair go long for the winter. Though normally kept in a bun or tie she let it down and fluffed it out with her wings. "I handed her off to Renae and Emaline to get her measured for a battle uniform. As for combat I can answer that for you now, she sucks, said so herself. As a matter of fact that was one of the most common reasons behind her getting abused. In her words she was a failure at battle and couldn't fight to save her life."

"What do you think?"

"The saying goes, every pokégirl can fight. It's your job to bring the fight out of her. You are good at bringing things out of pokégirls after all." The Cherub joked and crossed her legs suggestively.

If not for the fact that she was wearing a skirt and was known to be quite proper Marco would have dismissed the action. It was obvious she was attempting to get his attention and if the desk wasn't in the way she would be able to tell it was working. "I guess you're right. Look at you, one of the most vicious Cherubim anyone has ever laid eyes on."

Alexis could tell he was proud of that fact and she was proud of the pokégirl she had become. "I should be, you made me that way. I was such a powder-puff when I first joined the unit. Now look at me." She said with a laugh.

"You weren't that bad when you joined. Sure you said you didn't like to hurt people but you never seemed to hesitate."

"I guess the fact that I enjoyed it never bothered you. When it came to our personalities you've always given us an amazing amount of freedom to be who we are, not who you want us to be." It was a trivial matter for her to use telekinesis to float from the stool to the edge of Marco's side of the desk. Her wings began to grow in size until they outstretched a few feet then used them to pull him closer. "It's one of the little things that keeps us around."

For logistical reasons and to keep down potential volatile issues Marco got together with everyone who just wanted taming. For simplicity's sake and because Alexis talked everyone into it, they decided to arrange the tamings alphabetically. That effectively meant that she was first and while her eagerness was unnerving to her colonel he wasn't planning to disappoint her or any of the others. If it was only going to happen once he was going to make sure they enjoyed themselves.

"Now who said you all aren't who I want you to be? Perfect."

"My god you're corny." She laughed as she slid onto his lap.

They were just getting comfortable when a knock came at the door. Mina was still laughing hysterically when she opened the door. Her laughing died when Alexis shot her a look that sent a chill down her spine.

"Sorry to interrupt... I'm going to go now." She said as she began to back out the door.

"Wait, what was so funny?"

"Nothing important, I'll tell you tomorrow."

Marco smiled and shook his head before lifting Alexis's chin with his finger. "And that's why I love having you around."

Though dreamy, her face held a confused expression. "Why is that?"

"You're a rarity. Not many people are scared of celestial pokégirls, especially Cherubim. No one expects you to be as capable a fighter as you are and it leads them to a false sense of security. I know the real you though; you've helped more than you could ever know. Some of the others would have been lost without your help and guidance, myself included, the heart of the unit if there is one."

"The real me... the heart of the unit." She said softly as she thought about that statement and the person it came from. "A blood thirsty, no nonsense taking therapist, who happens to be part of a group of pokégirls you personally can't stand. How did I manage to come in such high regard by you?"

"Is there a reason you shouldn't be? Even with my displeasure at celestials I liked you from the moment we first met. Just as adorable as the pokédex said you would be but you were strong too. And as far as I can tell, you've never been afraid of me."

"I can't think of a reason anyone should be if they're on your good side. Maybe it's because I always know your intentions and you never intend to hurt anyone who doesn't deserve it. It's always been a point of contention between the others that you and I have never argued with each other. The assumption was that we were secretly sleeping together." She said as she idly ran her hand across his chest. "Of course you've been sleeping with the Betas and Kelly so obviously that's not the case... Why do we get along so well considering how opposite we are... maybe it’s how I came to you in the first place."

"You never thought like most celestials and many of them didn't approve of how you acted. You had your medical knowledge and your knowledge of the human psyche, but you longed for battle. Then you met us."

The Cherub sighed and rests her head on his chest as she thought back to that day. "Everyone was a mess... The fighting had been going on for weeks and you were there on day two. Till then you had been holding it together but everyone was injured in one way or another. I was asked to assist however I could..." A small laugh escaped her lips, remembering their first meeting like it was yesterday. "I'd heard the stories about you; they said you were crazy. An egotistical hotdog with a unit of unruly pokégirls, that you would step onto the battlefield with them and fight side by side. Hell, there was even a pool running on how long until you would be killed. You were supposed to receive a full healing unit but they got diverted to help elsewhere. All you got was me."

"I remember. We were taking a beating. Chesra was doing her best to keep everyone focused but she was exhausted. She, Kelly, and I were trying to figure out a plan to break through into the enemy stronghold... then this Cherub walks in. She had a medical bag bigger than she was and an intense look in her eyes."

"The first thing I noticed about you was that you were filthy, covered in blood and grime that had no business on an officer. If they weren't pokégirls or enlisted then they didn't get dirty... but here was this guy with silver bars; dirt caked all over him with his arm in a sling. I tell him why I was there and ask to look at his wound. He tells me to see to his girls first and to see him after I was done. I could feel it, he was in pain but that came second to making sure his unit was ok."

"They fought harder than I did and it was only a scratch."

"Your arm was broken in four different places."

"Semantics. Throughout the night you got everyone healed, all while accessing their mental states. Then you joined us in battle, we had never seen anything like it. You strolled through their defensive line with neither a care nor a second thought then came back covered in blood with the head of the opposing units officer in a sack. It didn't take long for them to give up after that."

It was one of the few times Marco had ever seen the Cherub look embarrassed about anything. She turned her head slightly; burying it in his shirt then looked back at him. "It was the first time I was actually told to go into battle. You gave me my orders and explained what the goal was. The only way I knew how to show my appreciation was to get the job done."

"Not long after that you put in a request to transfer to my unit and we were more than happy to accept you. The others had told me of how you helped them and that was exactly what we needed on the team."

"And here we are now. Years later and I've never regretted joining Avalanche." She sighed contently, taking the moment to inhale his scent. "You care so much for everyone... it's just something I can't do."

"We all show how we care differently. I look at Henrietta; she's the harshest one of the Betas. Her way of dealing with people is stern and she has a rough exterior, but heaven help anyone who tries to harm her friends or family. You, you make it seem like you're detached and you keep everyone at arms distance. But we all know we can call on you when we need help, to talk out whatever problems we may have." Lowering his head he pressed his lips against hers in a gentle kiss."

The next morning found the harem and Rebecca out at the field for combat training. Marco hadn't shown up yet so Henrietta and Chesra were taking command. After a five mile run it was time to start the actual fighting. To give the Airmaiden an idea of how things were supposed to go, Henrietta and Chesra were the first to square off.

The duel between the two Betas was a pretty impressive affair with both girls using high level attacks. After ending in a draw Quinn was asked to step up next. Rebecca had been specifically requested to assist in training the Airmaiden but problems were quickly arising. Try as she may Quinn couldn't lay a finger on the Smokey and was getting beaten rather badly. Thinking it was just some bad luck each of the harem members took turns squaring off against her but the result was always the same.

Chesra and Henrietta were racking their brains to figure out what training she needed when Marco appeared along with Alexis. The Cherub wore a pleased smile on her face and didn't even attempt to hide the visible marks he'd left on her. From the look of things she was a fan of rough play and that was exactly what she got.

"So how's she doing?" Asked Marco with a stretch, watching the Airmaiden try and defend against Carrie.

Henrietta shook her head in disapproval. "You know how they say all pokégirls can fight? Well they haven't seen Quinn. I mean I've seen some shitty combatants in my time but she takes first prize."

"She can't be that bad."

Chesra cleared her throat. "She is that bad. Her stance is bad, she doesn't know how to block, her air powers are subpar, her physical strength is dismal, and she's afraid to attack. There are so many things wrong I don't know where to start. We're taking it easy on her but in a real pokébattle or actual combat she's currently nothing more than a liability."

Marco's eyes flashed purple as he activated his Aura Sight. His hope was to get a read from her flames but there was a problem. Because of her blood gift they all appeared to be black, making it impossible to tell how she was feeling or how strong she was.

While Marco continued to talk to Chesra Henrietta had focused on her subordinate. The Cherub hadn't said a word since they appeared; just calmly sipping at her tea while watching the girls fight. "Did you have a good night?"

A strange smile crept across her face. "You ever orgasm until you blacked out then woke up seeing stars?"

Henrietta blushed a deep shade of red and let out a whistle. "Yep, that's a good night."

"That was the first hour. His only concern was pleasing me... and I must say, I'm quite pleased." Her eyes cut towards Marco and she seemed to quiver for a moment. "Quite pleased indeed."

Out in the sparring circle Carrie was keeping things toned down for the most part. She could take damage better than the others and healed fairly quickly. For the sake of boosting Quinn's confidence she was letting her get a few shots in. After one particularly good hit Carrie returned the favor and knocked the Airmaiden flat.

"Good grief, has it been like this the whole time?" Marco asked Chesra.

"More or less, we can't find anyone to spar against her who won't just win." She heaved a heavy sigh and scratched the back of her head. "As I think back I can't remember anyone ever being this bad... maybe Isabella. But even she would put up a decent fight."

"Give her some time. Not many of you were natural combatants when you first got here. We'll take things slow for now, basic fighting strategies and defensive tactics."

Still dazed out of her mind Quinn stumbled to her feet and made her way to Marco. "I'm a complete failure as a pokégirl."

"And just how much fighting did you do as a human?" He took her silence as none and continued on. "So... assuming you didn't learn how to fight when you were younger and didn't spar or train with your girls then you haven't been conditioned for combat."

"But... but."

Ashley gave the Airmaiden a pat on the back. "Don't worry; we'll get you up to speed in no time. I wasn't all that great when I joined the harem but everyone helped me to get better and as time goes on you'll turn into an amazing fighter."

"That means a lot... really, I just don't want you all to waste time on someone worthless like me." Quinn sighed then gasps when Marco grabbed her by the chin.

"No one apart of my harem or unit is worthless. We're going to continue our training for now but you and I are going to talk later." He turned slightly to address the rest of his harem. "So who wants to go and deliver some bad news?"

Alexis drained the last of her tea and shrugged. "I've got nothing to do right now. What's the message and who's it for?"

"Ari, tell her I need to move our night back by a day. Give her my deepest apologies and tell her I'll make it up to her."

"All things considered I may not be the best person to deliver this message after all. At least not until I've had a shower."

Chesra gave the Cherub a pat on the back. "She's my subordinate; I'll take care of it."

"Oh yeah, because this turned out just great the last time it happened." Remarked Carrie. She still remembered the hell Kelly put her through because of a similar occurrence and didn't want to see the Airmaiden in a similar situation. "It's not my place to say but I think Marco should do it himself."

Henrietta nodded in agreement. "She does have a point. Kelly was pretty bitchy for a while after that. Sure, Arianna and Marco don't have the same close relationship that he and Kelly do but it will feel better coming from him directly."

"Fine, I'll take care of it after morning training. Quinn, you'll be working with me directly for now. We're going to take things nice and slow." The reassuring tone Marco used set the Airmaiden at ease. She knew she would be in for a long morning but was determined to try her best.

Quinn had redoubled the effort she was putting into her training. With Marco sparring against her she was quickly learning how to guard against slower physical attacks. She had never seen a human actively train with their pokégirls, he was far tougher than expected and having his way with her. While it was depressing to lose time and time again it also made her excited. Every time he got his hands on her she was gently put to the ground but she could tell it was just a hint at how strong he really was.

By the time they had decided to take their afternoon break she was getting used to guarding. Their exchanges were getting faster and she was even starting to force him back. It was on one of these physical trades that her hair began to whip wildly behind her. Marco charged in to punch towards her stomach but was stopped dead in his tracks then hurled into the air. Seeing her new master go rigid she launched herself into the air and caught him before landing safely back on the ground.

Chesra was immediately by his side checking him over while Quinn looked around herself. Marco had been completely paralyze and strained to turn his head. "I think someone just learned Current Shield."

"I'm sorry Master, it just happened all of a sudden. Are you ok?"

Chesra moved next to Marco's head and went through some minor hand signs then lifted him to his feet. He shook off the shock and placed a gentle hand atop her head. "I've had far worse happen to me over the years and it was a newly learned defensive power. All the same, try not to use offensive abilities on me. I'm tough but not pokégirl tough."

"I don't know," Chesra spoke. "You've managed to put up a good fight against most of us, and you were outfighting a heavily blood gifted human."

"I should have ripped out his throat when I had the chance." He growled for a second. "Oh well, bastards dead and gone." The stiffness finally left his limbs completely and with a slight rotation he stretched his neck. "Ok Ladies, that's it for today! You're all free to do as you please! Quinn, I'll come and get you in a few hours but for now I need to find Ari."

"Delta is in the gym today and should just be finishing up. You can find her there. Now who's up for a nice warm bath?!"

Everyone dispersed and Marco started his way towards the gym. Even if the squad had finished the War Hound would stay and work out more. Ever since her return she had been desperate to improve her fighting skill. It agitated her to no end that she had been beaten by Tessa and Andzral, sooner or later she would see them again and things would be different. In reality there were other reasons behind her intense training.

Like Marco expected, he found her still working out. Decommissioned PUMA tires had been recycled and used to make heavy-bags that those who were super-strong wouldn't destroy in one punch. He stood off to the side watching her strength, poise, and speed as she struck the bag. Her attacks were swift and efficient, striking points that would be critical on an opponent much smaller than she was. Punches and kicks landed in quick succession as she maneuvered around the bag until she looked up and saw him watching. Her sweat soaked fur moved like a slick cascade of blood wrapped around her body as she reached for her towel.

"Colonel?" She asked with raised ears.

"Sorry, didn't mean to interrupt. I came to talk to you... well... to personally deliver some bad news."

Her ears fell flat against her skull as she began to imagine the worst things possible. "My god, they are going to force you to have me court-martialed."

"Not even. Because of some issues with Quinn I need to move our night together."

Arianna's tail lashed behind her in irritation as she registered what he said. While she had to be debriefed on what happened during the months she was captured all the investigators wanted were the facts. They didn't really care what had been done to her they just wanted the information she had. The unit on the other hand had asked her about what she's been through but she never talked. The shame of having lost the fight, the physical abuse she endured, and giving up information on her colonel; she just couldn't explain it to them.

"Ya know... back when I was chained to a wall and being beaten daily that idiot Evan came up with this plan. The idea was to manipulate my senses and make me think that you had come to rescue me. There were a lot of reasons the plan failed; not knowing the name of teammates, not knowing specific information, the way he talked and smelt, they were all wrong... but one of the first reasons was because he hinted at the idea of taming me. I guess that was one thing about you he got accurate."

'Ok, that was a bit harsh but I'll let it go.' Thought Marco. The idea that she had just compared him to Evan hit hard and almost forced him to correct her. Still she had been through a lot and he knew she needed to let some things out.

"The only difference is that he did tame me... and I hated it. I can still taste him sometimes and it makes me want to vomit. I have nightmares that I'm still with him, forced to suck him off then restrained as he had his way with me. Finally, I thought today, I'll finally have something to replace those memories with, but I guess you let me down again Colonel." She spoke quickly. Her words had traveled faster than her brain was registering and when she finally gave Marco a straight look she didn't like what she saw.

His face was almost void of expression but she could smell the waves of anger he was giving off. As Marco started to make his way towards her she panicked. Everything she had just said replayed unfiltered through her mind and the situation was bad. She could actually feel the heat in the room climb as he got closer and backed her into the heavy bag. For a moment it seemed as if he would ignite, blow up, and take everything around with him.

"Arianna..." Came out in a low tone.

The sound of a puppy's whimper escaped from her as she backed down. "Colonel, I apologize for my outburst. I..."

"Shut up and listen..." He cut her off quickly. The two of them were an arm’s reach apart and that was all the space he needed to reach out and pull her into a tight embrace. As he let her go one hand lingered against her cheek. "I want to tell you something."

"Colonel?"

"While you were gone I had horrible nightmares. You were one of the first to join the unit and you were gone. I didn't know where you were or what was happening to you, I had failed you. In these nightmares you would appear before me; battered and broken, flesh torn from your body, dead but still moving. You would blame me for what happened to you then tear me apart."

"Colonel, I would nev..."

"Shhh... I didn't blame you then and I don't blame you for being upset with me now. But I want to help, you haven't talked to Alex or anyone since you came back and we're worried. Even though I can't spend tonight with you I'm going to make up for it and not just for the sake of taming. This is more important to me than that."

"But... but if I'm so important than why are you pushing me away tonight?"

"Quinn... even though she's new she's been through a lot. Stuck with not only an abusive tamer but an abusive harem as well. It pales in comparison to what you went through, but she's not as strong as you either. She needs the time as much as you do... even if you deserve it more."

Arianna enjoyed the feel of the hand against her fur but subconsciously slumped down against the bag. Marco never lost contact with her, sliding down too. "It... it was horrible. With Haures it was cut and dry, he tamed me... cut off my tail after I nearly crushed his skull. Kept me awake as long as they could, had me starved, and had Tessa and Andzral beat me when I gave them hell... I made it a point to give them hell as much as possible."

He leaned forward and kissed her on the forehead. "That's my girl."

"Everything changed when Evan showed up." She shuddered as it came flooding back. "He pulled out one of my claws with his bare hands. I returned the favor by hitting him with a head-butt. Then I was healed, fed, and given time to sleep. He entered with a kit the next morning... he... he..."

"Shhhh, that's enough for now. I'm happy you were willing to share this with me." She nodded slowly and placed her hand against his. "And I appreciate your understanding with Quinn."

"I remember what it was like to be in a strange place around people I didn't know. Back then the only person I could count on was Zianna. Now I have a whole family I can depend on, if you need help training her I'll assist."

"I know you would. What I want you to do is take a break. Relax a little and collect your thoughts for tomorrow. I promise we'll be together."

"Thank you... I didn't mean to say those things to you. You're too good of a person to be compared to scum like him."

Marco let out a light laugh and stood up, pulling her with him. "I'll let it go this time, just don't let it happen again."

Quinn sat alone on Marco's bed listening to the water running from the shower. She'd bathed earlier while he was busy in his office and didn't know what to expect now that they were alone. Things were going well as far as she was concerned. Everyone appeared to like her and during training she could feel herself growing closer to the man. In fact she found it unnerving how quickly she was beginning to grow attached to him.

He spoke to her like a person and treated her with respect. It was the same way he treated all the pokégirls but it was odd to experience. When they were training he didn't go out of his way to try and harm her, none of the harem did. They pushed her to get better and praised her for the progress she made. When he spoke harshly it was always with her best interest in mind.

She jumped slightly when he sat down next to her. He continued to dry his hair as he spoke. "Are you adjusting well?"

"Well enough I guess." While she was waiting she had taken a look around at the pictures on the walls. "You really are close to everyone aren't you?"

"A lot of us have been together for a long time, even if their ranks don't reflect time served. We live together... more or less, we train together, and we fight together. One giant dysfunctional family."

Quinn covered her mouth for a laugh. "So does that make you the father or the husband? You obviously don't go for the 'Master' thing."

"Commanding Officer and I fill other roles as needed to a degree. I generally don't tame the girls from the unit but a one-time exception was made after a stunt I pulled."

"I see..." Quinn nodded then focused on one picture of a girl she hadn't met. "Who's she?" She asked with a point.

Marco got up and started towards the wall of photos only to pause when he recognized who she spoke of. "... Leona, my greatest failure as a leader. She obediently followed my orders and it cost her her life..."

"I... I'm sorry I brought it up Master Marco." She explained, making sure to use the title to emphasize her apology.

"It's ok, you didn't know. And please don't call me master. I have enough girls I can't seem to break of that habit. Marco is fine."

"So are you trying to say calling you Marco is fine or are you speaking in the third person?" She joked in an attempt to lighten the mood.

"Nice to see you've gotten over your timid nature. But don't think I haven't noticed you trying to get the attention off yourself. Being together tonight is about us trying to get to know each other." Pulling up the chair from his desk he sat across from her. "Alex said you used to be a human tamer?"

"Yeah, I was ok for a tamer... nothing special. It was going to be my last year on the circuit but while traveling near the Spell Dump I was ambushed by another tamer. He had me hit with the water and that was the end of that. As an Airmaiden I wasn't very strong so he didn't use restraints to tame me... big mistake. An involuntary use of some wind power sent him into one of the containers of water." A slight smile passed her lips along with a hint of maliciousness. "Him turning into a Titmouse seemed to be fate giving me a last hurrah."

"Titmouse? Hell, I could beat a Titmouse. I guess the fight didn't last long."

"Throttled him on the spot. While trying to make it back to town I went feral. It was one of the worst experiences of my life. The conscious part of my mind could tell there was something wrong but my body was acting on its own."

"I understand, the others have told me stories of when they had gone feral. I guess not long after that you were captured by a tamer?"

"Yeah, he was a bastard. I didn't know any attacks and he treated me like trash... though I guess I didn't always treat my harem well either. He was a fairly new tamer and I had more experience than he did so I thought I could make up for my lack of power by trying to help him make better decisions. He didn't care and the rest of the harem didn't appreciate what I tried to do." She sighed out and clenched her hands. "I was hardly worth taming as far as he was concerned but made a decent practice dummy for the others."

"He reminds me of Jean's old tamer. The pudgy bastard lost his gym battle and was taking it out on her when I stopped him. He challenged me to a salvage battle in which Rietta beat his alpha. I promptly took Jean away from him and after an expectantly rough start she mellowed out and has been with me ever since."

Quinn's laughter caught Marco off guard but she couldn't help herself. "Losing a Kyubi, he must have been pissed."

"Jean was just a Nogitsune at the time; she's come a long way since then."

"Wow, I guess she's been around for a long time."

Marco scratched his head and began counting. "Seven months at the most. Man, has it only been that long?"

The Airmaiden stared at him in amazement. "How is that possible? I thought Delta Bonds took years to create, how'd you do it in such a short amount of time?"

Marco moved from the chair and sat next to her, sliding an arm around her waist and pulling her closer. "Because it's not just about the taming with me. I took the time out to really bond with each girl in my harem. We don't just train and do gym battles. We go to dinner, out shopping, to the movies, basically spending quality time together. That means we're far closer to each other than a normal harem."

"I guess I chose right after all." She squirmed slightly, trying to get comfortable being next to him. Not that she was dreading her taming. She had talked to those in the harem and knew he would be gentle unless asked otherwise. "Sooooo... Is now where we... um... you know."

"Eventually, but we'll ease into things."

~~~~~
Back at the office the girls had all gotten together for an impromptu party. There wasn't really anything to celebrate but everyone was in a good mood never the less. Drinks were passed in heavy supply and as the alcohol flowed the topics of conversation went from simple towards the more risqué side of things.
"OH THAT'S BULLSHIT!" Yelled Henrietta while the others laughed.
Arianna shrugged and took a sip of her beer. "What?"
"Don't you what me. All I said was that he didn't care when I died and he slapped the shit out of me. You! You compared him to Evan and got a hug!?"
Kelly gave her a pat on the back and passed her a drink. "Don't feel alone, he threw me into a chair."
"True but you were being a tyrannical, rampaging, bitch; you were kind of asking for it."
"I'll say." Carrie chimed in. "Next to being stuck with David that was the suckiest month of my life."
"I did apologize. Besides it didn't turn out badly. I hadn't been sent to The Pit in a while so the exercise was good and you're pretty fun in the sack." Kelly laughed and threw an arm around the Mistress.
"Speaking of fun in the sack, I'm surprise you're not upset about us sleeping with your future husband, Major." Spoke Emaline.
"I don't get to be pissy about that. No matter what I'll have to share him so I may as well get used to it."
Alex gave a light laugh and then sighed. "At least you'll still be getting some from him. I have to be content with what I got last night... you all that are still waiting have something to look forward to."
"You're just saying that because you're a Cherub. He could flick you in the nose and as long as he wants to please you you'll be pleased." Snapped Selena.
"Oh yeah, show of hands. Who here has slept with the Colonel and not been satisfied?"
"Are we talking since the beginning or just in a general sense?" Asked Ashley. "Because he's gotten a lot better since when we started."
"I believe that is a perfectly fair statement. “Jean nodded. "I mean I always enjoyed myself, he made sure of that. But as time went on he learned what I liked and what I loved." She blushed as she curled one tail over her shoulder and brushed it against her cheek. A thought occurred to the Kyubi and her tail began to glow. "As a matter of fact."
Selena wondered what the fox was up to until she felt a hand on her shoulder. She turned abruptly and saw Marco staring down at her. Her tail went rigid as she felt his hand grab it firmly and stroke it from the base down to the tip and upon its release she slumped forward against the table in a need to catch her breath.
"Cut that out Jean." Laughed Chesra.
The fake Marco faded from existence and left the Caphoochie looking red and embarrassed. Jean turned to face Chesra next. "Don't tell me you're feeling neglected. All things considered I think we could have a lot of fun in here tonight. Call it... a sneak preview for those who are still waiting. Who's game?" The table appeared to heat up as face after face turn red in embarrassment. Lily was the first to raise her hand followed shortly by Isabella while everyone else looked around sheepishly.
"Really... Just two of you, no one else?" Alexis laughed. "You bunch of fuckin liars. I'm in."
More hands began to go up but they were all interrupted by the doorbell ringing. Kelly left her seat to answer the door, pausing just long enough to give Jean a suggestive look. Once at the door she checked the camera then whistled for the others to quiet down.
On the other side stood Dark Queen Delilah, as well as two new faces.
"Major Kelly I have news, is there any chance I can speak to Colonel Readman?"
Kelly eyed Delilah as well as the two girls with her. "Possibly, who are they?"
"Part of my Coven, Aoko and this is Sera. We have something urgent to discuss."
Kelly motioned for them to follow then called to Henrietta, Mina, and Chesra. Seeing the Dark Queen and other infernal pokégirls Alexis decided to follow along and see what was up. The group made their way into the Ops Con room and got seated.
Kelly glanced at the Hellcat and Psivamp then looked to Alexis. The good mood of the Cherub left the moment they entered their home but she kept it to herself for the most part. The Duelist closed her eyes in concentration then blushed and shook her head when she felt what Marco was doing. "Delilah, the Colonel isn't here right now and from the feel of things is quite busy, what's this urgent news?"
"Alphonso Haures escaped from prison and is back to trying to kill Colonel Readman. He recently contacted me as well and made a request. I'm to join forces with Angelica Oran and together we're to guarantee that he's killed during the next attack. So of course I'm here to relay this information to you all and possibly coordinate some captures."
"We don't know what his plans are right now but if you come back later we can all plan together."
Aoko shook her head and flicked her ash grey ears. "We're risking enough coming here now. It is said that Angelica has a canine pokégirl with a sharp sense of smell, we have until the night of the operation against you to come up with a suitable plan."
"We know all about the canine, she is the sister to two of our squad mates. As for your coming here, you don't have to. Delilah's cover is that of an information broker after all. She has to get her in formation from somewhere but I'll assume they'll never know who your sources are?" Asked Alexis.
"That is correct." Snarled the Hellcat.
"Then she can call us whenever she needs to set up the captures. And is there something about this idea you don't like... I didn't get your name."
"It's Aoko, and I'm just wondering if I should or shouldn't eat you?"
Delilah showed her disapproval of that train of thought by hitting her subordinate firmly in the back of the head. Alexis on the other hand didn't seem to be bother by it. "Well Aoko, I'm Alex, and you are more than welcome to attempt to eat me..." She let her hand move above the table and ignited it. "You may find the challenge a bit over your head."
"Stop that Sargent." Kelly commanded. "Delilah, when are you supposed to meet up with Angelica?"
"A few days. We're supposed to meet in the Indigo Plateau on neutral ground for the both of us. Apparently she doesn't live in the Indigo League and needs time to arrange travel."
Henrietta nodded and pulled up the 3D map of the city.  "Is there a particular area you're planning on meeting at? We could set up early and take her by surprise. Why did they ask for you anyway?"
"The mistress is seen as a 'fixer' of sorts and has gained a reputation for ruthless efficiency. It's the same rep Angelical has so I guess the thought process is if they put the two of them together then the job is sure to get done right." Sera explained with pride.
"Well that explains that." Mina sighed. "Rietta, the only problem I see with trying to get close to her during her meeting with Delilah is that she's seen all of us at least twice. On the other hand Jean could get us close enough to make a play."
Delilah pulled a data stick from her pocket and placed it on the table. "Actually I'd rather you not do anything for now. Colonel Readman is pushing the limits of what the leader of Team Rocket is willing to tolerate and if things go wrong again they may leave him alone completely. We'd rather that not happen."
Chesra gave a raised eyebrow and questioning look towards the Dark Queen. "So why exactly would that be a bad thing? I mean it's what the Colonel wants and honestly I'd rather be done with them too."
"I understand that but if they stop going after Colonel Readman then SLOI and the other intelligence agencies will have to try and find other means of breaking the organization. Right now he's the target and the best lead we all have to taking a major chunk out of the Rockets."
Kelly raised a calming hand towards Chesra. "I don't like this but I understand what she's asking for. Obviously I can't make decisions for the Colonel but we'll relay your message and see what he says."
"That's all we can ask for now, I appreciate your seeing us on short notice and at such an ungodly hour."
"No problem, either the Colonel or I will get back to you when we agree on how this should be handled. Mina, if you would please show our guest out." Kelly waited until the trio had left then glanced at Alexis. "Do we still trust them?"
"Of course, they haven't given us a reason not to. I dislike infernals out of breed principal... but really, that's the only time my breed has any influence over what or how I think. Now the question is what will the Colonel decide to do about it? He already has his own plans in motion and really isn't in the mindset to cater to the whims of the intelligence community."
"And I don't blame him." Spoke an irritated Chesra. "They aren't the ones who are being hunted, he is. They just have to sit back and take action after the smoke settles. We're the ones caught in the crossfire."
Henrietta continued to look at the 3D map and marked the best locations for a safe meeting. "I agree completely and honestly wish he would have let me take care of Angelica while we had her in the open. If she's being compared to a Dark Queen then she's far too dangerous to keep giving chances to. Here... Isabella managed to finish her overlay program." While Henrietta was talking she had pulled up the 3D maps for Lavenderriere Town, Sapphron City, the Dogpatch fairgrounds, and Indigo Plateau. "These three are the locations we know Angelica's targeted Marco and the last is where she's going to be for the meeting with Delilah. Those red lines are the best lines of sight for snipers, apparently her preferred method of eliminating targets. Unfortunately we only have one shot to go off of and one from confirmed positioning, everything else is speculation."
Kelly looked across the maps and cringed. The first shot that had hit Evan came from over a mile and a half from where they were. With that data entered the number of potential locations for her snipers to setup was excessively high. "There is no way we can cover all of those. At best we could manipulate the field and force them into an area of our choosing."
"So are we providing backup for SLOI now?" Asked Alexis.
"No, this is just preparation for when we tell Marco about this. I don't think he would mind getting the drop on them for once."
"Right... If only he weren't planning on helping her..."
