The young man that went by the online name of Corren Skyblazer, was absolutely stunned to say the least, by what the vision of beauty before him had claimed him to be.

Certainly, he like all other individuals from his world that were involved in cult following of Metronanime’s Wild Horses and Pokegirls, or in that series’ future incarnation, the Modern Pokegirl Universe, was fully aware of what the red haired beauty before him was claiming.

There were two things going through his shocked mind right now, both in reaction to the very emotional statement that Meiling had made just moments ago.

The first of which was the utter shock he felt at being called “Master” by another being, let alone by the beautiful Meiling. He had never been addressed in such an important way; he had never been addressed as a superior, now that he thought of it either. The closest to that would have been when he had in his early teens and had been an assistant instructor at his Taekwondo School. And even in that instance he had always been called Sir. It was a title that was used by anyone of a lower ranking than another, be it in belt ranking or in social ranking, such as it was between teacher and student.

But that has been a mere formality at best, since he wasn’t an official teacher by school. And even in that instance he had always been called Sir. It was a title that was used by anyone of a lower ranking than another, be it in belt ranking or in social ranking, such as it was between teacher and student. But that has been a mere formality at best, since he wasn’t an official teacher by any means.

To be addressed by another living being by a title like Master, now that was a whole different matter entirely. To be someone’s master, you were in charge of that person, were held liable for their actions, and were allowed to pretty much dictate anything they could do. You were essentially able to control the fate of another living individual in some cases. That was a whole lot of power given by just a simple title. To have a servant, or in the case of the relationship between Master and Pokegirl, a servant that you regularly bedded, and willing to go to the ends of the world just for said masters approval, that was enough to through him for a bit of a loop.

He had always been the type of person that had been fairly gifted at leading others, or so he had been told, but that was typically in non-important roles, mostly in classrooms or in a work related environment. He rarely was ever given authority over another individual, let alone given as much as control as the title she had addressed him by had.

The second thing that went through his mind was a rush of confusion over the manner in which she had made her statement. She had stated “I am so glad that you are back…Master” which implied two things by itself. The first was that he had apparently been missing and hadn’t been told about it. The second and most important was the familiarity that was implied by her statement. Before first laying eyes on her the other day, he had never seen her before in the flesh and blood, at least to his knowledge. And he had a really good memory. The only time he had ever seen her was back in his world, in the form of a fictional animated character, in a semi well known media craze known as the Tohou Project.

Sure he had dreamed of meeting several of his favorite anime and manga characters before, Hong Meiling being among that list of characters, but to meet in person, a being that he had thought fictional on two counts was just a bit surreal. Sure he had been surprised to find out that Pokegirls were a real flesh and blood thing, let alone the fact he was apparently no longer in his own world. But to then find out that Hong “China” Meiling was another of these beings, on this strange and wonderful world simply took the cake.

And here before him now, no more than a handful of steps across a cell from him was this world’s version of the Gatekeeper of the Scarlet Devil Mansion. Hong Meiling or was it just Meiling, was still very much in the middle of her emotional moment, that same look of love and adoration was still present on her face, clearly visible even through the tears that she was unable to brush away due to her hands and feet being bound quite heavily.

Quite honestly he was torn at the moment between wishing to reassure the emotional martial artist before him, and wanting to ask her what in the blue hell she was talking about. The compassionate side of him, a side that he had once been told would bring him both happiness and grief in life, was seemingly in a neck in neck race with his more inquisitive side for dominance of his mind and emotions. Taking another few moments to get his head together he decided to do as best he could to calm the nearly hysterical (potentially in more than one way) young woman down.

“Hey, hey Meiling please calm down…there’s no need cry, really I’m here and it’s not like I’m going anywhere “he trailed off with a helpless shrug as if to indicate his equally restrained form, he was glad that he had apparently done the right thing, which was trying to distract her with cheap humor, when he heard her give out what sounded like a giggle amongst her crying, which indicated that he was at least somewhat successful in calming her.

It would take a few more minutes before she totally had calmed down completely, well at least to the point that she was sniffling every so often. He really did not want to burst her bubble, and send her back into tears, this time of disappointment and depression, but he never had felt that it was right to keep the truth from others, even if it upset them further.

He’d need to be careful with how he was going to approach this subject, one misstep in how he said this could provoke another round of waterworks. He had never been able to stand seeing a girl cry; it had always been a weakness of his he supposed.

It was after she had settled down, that she began looking at him in a way that expressed far more familiarity than it should have, it was a look that made him feel even more uneasy as well as guilty, even though there was nothing he could do but tell her the truth.

“Master…I don’t know how or why….but I am so glad that you are back!” she said this only after she had managed to get a hold on her runaway emotion and had stopped shaking and crying so much.

“Umm…right…I…”Was what he tried to say in reply, but the look she was giving him cut him off before he could really get started.

“I was so devastated when you died, that I had failed in my duty as both your protector and as your Pokegirl…I…was never the same after what happened. ”Her eyes began to take on a look of who was reliving a past experience that had affected them deeply, and not in a good way. A good word for this look he supposed would be haunted.

Before she could get too caught up in her recollection and possibly have another emotional breakdown, he really felt it was important to correct of her little mistake in claiming him as her dead master.

“Umm Meiling before you tell me more about that…there is really something important that I should tell you.  I am really sorry to say this but…” he trailed off not knowing quite how to put this.

“Look Meiling…I don’t know how to put this…but there is absolutely no way I could be your master…” was what he finally managed to get out after struggling to for a moment. Her response was too look horribly confused by his statement.

“Master what on earth do you mean you are not my master, I would recognize your smell and face anywhere? “was her honestly confused question, though she seemed to look at his face and unclothed form for a moment as if judging his appearance. “Granted you appear to be a bit out of shape, but a few weeks’ worth of my training regimen should easily fix that, and get you back into top form!”

‘I look the same as her old master...huh...it would seem that there are analogs of the Authors in this world as well.Hmmm did she just call me fat in a slightly round about way?'

Well that just made things even harder to explain; apparently her previous master was this world’s version of him or something, and he was apparently in a lot better shape. Brilliant, not only did he have to dissuade her of the notion that he was her born again master, but that he was in this shape cause he wasn’t the same person. He wasn’t even from this world damn it!

“Look…let’s forget about the fact that you seem to think I am your dead master, who is somehow back from the dead, not to mention the fact that I honestly cannot say I have ever met you before today.” At this she looked a bit hurt but nodded her head for him to continue. I need to know how much you know about a group of Pokegirl on the Dark Continent known as Sanctuary.”

“Why do you need to know about them then, and what do you mean that you haven’t met me before today?” She seemed even further confused by his change of subject and a mix of concerned and curious about his statement of not knowing her.

“They, as in Sanctuary, are apparently the reason I am here. The reason I say I do not know you Meiling, is because I am not a native inhabitant of this world.” Was his solemn reply to her questions, he seemed to be quite serious about this.

She looked startled by this claim, that he was not from here, as in not from this planet.  But she nodded her head once again for him to continue none the less.

“I am from the planet Earth, just not this planet Earth.” Cue confused look on China’s face, furrowed brows and all.

“How can you claim to be from Earth, but not this Earth, there is only one Earth, that is unless pf course you had a device similar to what the Creator had.”  Meiling replied.

“You know of Sukebe’s device? That was hundreds of years ago, wasn’t it?” asked Corren.

“You are correct in that the War of Revenge was hundreds of years ago, it was a little more than 300 years ago actually. And as to how I know of his dimensional travel device? I was participated in that War of course.” Was her matter of fact reply, she didn’t seem at all troubled by admitting to the fact that she was probably over 300 years old, or close to it.

“Wait that would mean that you’d have to have Longevity as a breed enhancement then…which is impossible as the last time I checked, the Kishi did not have such an enhancement. There is only one other way for you to have that then.” Corren was now looking at Meiling in a completely new light, before him was a Pokegirl that claimed she was a veteran of Sukebe’s War of Revenge.

“Very astute of you as usual Master or whoever you are” she said this last part with narrowed eyes, a look of understanding now coming to her face.

“However before I answer your question, I have a few things to ask you.” This did not sound so much like a request as it did an order.

His eyebrows went up in surprise at her turn in behavior, but he nodded his head to indicate his willingness to answer her own questions.

‘If my suspicions are right…this new behavior she is exhibiting wouldn’t be entirely out of place, especially if I am right. ‘He thought this as he to begin to think things over.

“Did Pokegirls also exist in your world then? And also if you are not my Master as you claim to be, then who are you, and why do you look and smell identical to him?” She asked this with an air of casual indifference, but one could tell if they knew her, or in his case, of her. She was just as genuinely curious as he was.

“In a way, yes they did. However they did not exist as beings of flesh and blood. On my Earth, Pokegirls and everything that makes up this world was a work of fiction.” At this, Meiling looked badly startled, but nodded for him to continue, albeit it shakily. “And as to why I resemble your deceased master so much that I even smell like him…If I had to take a guess I would say this is a case of Near Earth Analogs.”

Meiling predictably looked more than a tad bit shaken by his revelation that the Pokegirlverse was a work of fiction in his home dimension. She did however look a bit intrigued by his explanation of why her deceased master and what she guessed was an alternate version of her master resembled each other so much.

“Another possibility albeit an unlikely one, is that of direct reincarnation.” At this she looked to regain some of her diminished hope.

“For this to be the case…I think you’d need to see if you can feel any of the previous Bond you had with your Master, and see if it is present once again. But let’s not worry about that now. Now I want to see if my suspicions are proven correct, are you by chance a Kishi that was born with the Hunter template?”

She seemed to accept his explanation easily enough and nodded her head to confirm that he was correct in his assumptions.

“Again very good work, not many have lived to tell that I am a Hunter, even less have managed to figure it out. Granted I gave you a fairly big hint in stating my age.” She was smirking now; it was a look that he thought looked right on her, even if the smirk was a tad unnerving in its intensity.

“Two more questions before I want to get some rest. Is your name really Skyblazer? And if not is your real name the same as his? “She asked this with a hopeful expression on her face, she seemed to want to be able to call him by HIS name for some reason.

“To answer you first question, no. The name Skyblazer is part of a name that I assumed on the internet particularly on the websites dedicated to media involving Pokegirls. I guess I am what you could call an Author, though in truth the word Reader would be more accurate. And the full name is Corren Skyblazer by the way. “He replied with a smirk of his own, his eyes shining with some hidden emotion. “And to answer your second question, yes I believe our names are the same. But let’s not talk about that now. I want us both to get some rest. I have a strange feeling we’re going to need as much of that as we can in the days to come, especially if you are willing to help me get revenge on these bitches!” He snarled the last part of his reply, his smirk turning particularly nasty.

In response Meiling’s expression turned just as nasty as his own, a smirk that only opponents she went all out against, and victims from her days as a Hunter ever saw.

Things were certainly going to be interesting, now that she and her master, or rather a version of her master were going to work together to get even with their mutual captors.

The Limbec Pirates that were under the influence of the upstart faction of Sanctuary, known only as the Sisterhood, would find themselves doubly screwed. As forces of nature that held a long time grudge with the Limbecs and an Author and a Hunter Pokegirl were preparing to attack.

However, little did either party that planned and schemed against the Limbecs and Sanctuary, there was even now a third party that had such plans as well.

???Location Unknown, Somewhere in Edo League???

Within a particular series of Pacific Islands, somewhere deep within one islands forest’s lays a grand structure, that is clearly man made.

Great walls made of dark red brick make up a good portion of the structure of this great building, a large tower made entirely of this building is one its most distinguishing features. Atop this tower of brick lays two large clock faces each facing away from one another, indicating that this portion of the building is a clock tower.

Directly across from the clock tower is another tower of similar height, this one however is topped by a steeple that would not look out of place on a European church.

Connected to both of these towers is the main part of the building, which appears to be a large house of what might be 18th or 19th century European design. A set of stairs made of stone begins just where the walkway from the large Iron Gate ends, which leads up to a porch that is covered by a triangular shaped enclosure that is supported my columns. Upon the enclosure over the front porch is a symbol of the owner of this grand home, it appears to be the form of a bat of some sort. Many windows line the front of the house, one row on the bottom, with a great number of them above that, on what is presumably the second story of the structure. Above the windows are three prominent arches that are near the line of the rooftop.

And this grand home, that could very well be called a mansion, is completed by a third and fourth tower that have an octagonal shape to them, and stand connected by a shared wall with the main portion of the abode. These towers are lined with windows on each of their outwards facing sides. Portions of the tower are made of white colored material that the majority of the main house is.

This grand mansion sits on an island in the middle of a misty lake. The mists of this lake only add to the mysterious aura that this home seems to radiate like an aura.

It is within this great mansion that the landlady rests, scheming and planning the down fall of the brigands that dared to kidnap her servant. They would rue the day that they crossed the Mistress of this grand mansion, an individual that was known only by a select few in this day and age. However amongst the Pokegirls of the army of the Creator, she was infamous for her deeds both good and bad, for she was the Scarlet Devil.

It is well documented that Sukebe was a genius and possibly a madman. Few consider the fact that he wasn’t perfect. Sukebe, however, knew this fact quite well. He realized that sometimes his creations wouldn’t be quite what he wanted and that this fact might not become obvious until after some time had passed. Therefore he created the Hunters to eliminate any unsatisfactory Pokégirls that might prove resistant to self-termination.

The Hunters were designed to hunt down and eliminate problematic Pokégirls, whether individuals or groups. They are tireless predators when seeking out their targets and relatively normal Pokégirls otherwise. Hunters can be from any species of Pokégirl that was specifically created by Sukebe.

The loss of Sukebe has left the Hunter types at loose ends. Each responded to this new condition in different ways. Some have kept hunting their previously assigned targets while other have stopped and gone on to seek other pursuits.

All Hunters, regardless of actual libido, are sexually aggressive and do not hesitate to communicate their status to their Tamer or to the members of his harem.

All Hunters eat meat. In fact, to use one of their most potent abilities, Ingest, they must feed off of a target. Once they do this, they gain the ability to shapechange themselves into their target for twenty four hours. This was developed to allow them to take out a member of a group and then assume its identity to infiltrate the rest of the group. They keep their own powers, however, as well as Type, Strengths and Weaknesses. If they ingest brain matter from their target, they gain its memories for the same interval. Note that Hunters with total recall keep the memories forever.

In a harem, Hunters will not necessarily reveal their extra abilities, and so even an approximate idea of the number of Hunters existent is impossible to determine.

They were never produced in large numbers and were deliberately given reduced rates of fertility. As all Hunters have longevity, and as of 300 AS, none have currently become Pokéwomen.

Hunters are ferocious mothers and refuse to be separated from their young. They will kill their Tamer or anyone else who tries to interfere with their offspring and flee with the young if necessary.

Hunters will try to seek out a Tamer before going feral and with their teleport ability have a very good chance of attaining this goal. Feral Hunters are much more sexually aggressive and will seek out a human male to regain their sanity. They will destroy anything that stands in their way of attaining Taming.
