Chapter 5

<20:00, A stormy coastline off Blue>

“You’re sure you want to be dropped here? Now?” Braxton shouted at Andrew.

Andrew could barely hear him over the sound of the Helicopter mixed with the wind. He nodded. “Much more believable if I’m a poor Tamer who got caught in the storm and lost his gear than a Tamer that just showed up in town one day. Plus it’ll give me a chance to practice my survival skills. It’s been a while.”

Braxton rolled his eyes. “Why not practice on a nice night with a little wind? Why this gale?”

Andrew grinned. “You said you wouldn’t question me. I have some things to think about and discuss with Claire. A storm makes it so others can’t hear.”

Braxton shrugged. “Have it your way. We’re coming in.”

Andrew squinted against the rain and managed to make out what seemed to be a large forest encroaching on a beach. Steep cliffs marked where the beach ended and the wilds began. “Hey, just so I don’t get killed immediately, there are no extremely dangerous ferals in the area, right?” He asked Braxton.

Braxton’s eyebrows shot up. “Whaaat? You mean you don’t know, Mr. Omnipotent?” He laughed at the expression on Andrew’s face. “We had it scanned just yesterday. Don’t feel like losing you just yet. Strongest thing in there that our mages could detect was a Boobisaur. I don’t think she will be a problem.”

Andrew nodded. “Thanks. And for doing it with mages, too. A Dark type wouldn’t be detected by Psychics.”

Braxton nodded. “We’re smarter than you give us credit for, Andrew. Now here we go – your ride ends here.”

Andrew nodded and took the rope offered him. He had let slip about his military training, and since fuel was still a valuable commodity, especially for the top secret prototype helicopter he was in, Braxton had decided a fast rope was better than finding a landing spot. Neglecting the fact the helicopter still couldn’t land very well… Especially in the winds they were experiencing.

“Good luck, Andrew.” Braxton yelled. Andrew tipped an imaginary hat as he jumped into the night. Braxton waited a few seconds until he saw a red light strobe twice at the copter before triggering the retrieval device and signaling the pilot. “Let’s get out of here!” He yelled. The helicopter peeled off, leaving one shadowy figure slowly trudging to the trees.

<23:00, Forest in Blue>

Claire looked around her. While she could still hear the storm quite easily, she was surprised to find herself dry and a little warm. Andrew pointed at what seemed to be a wall of leaves behind her. “There’s the door, if you need to relieve yourself. Make sure to not go far; you might not find your way back in this storm. I made sure to camouflage the shelter as best as I could.”

Claire shook her head. “You’re a human, sir. Without magic you couldn’t have hid it very well.”

Andrew’s eyes twinkled. “Very well. Want to test it? Go outside and wander around for a bit, then try to find your way back. Take five minutes to go somewhere, and five minutes to get back. I’ll time you.”

Claire rolled her eyes. “Yea. I’ll do that and let you get eaten by a feral. I’ll just look at this ‘camouflage’ of yours when I go pee.”

She ducked outside and Andrew settled in to wait.

An hour later Andrew heard branches breaking and he sat up. Claire still hadn’t come back and he was hoping that what he was hearing was her rampage as she tried to find him. Then he remembered that he wasn’t that lucky. He got into a half-squat and waited. “Claire?” He called softly. “Is that you?”

The noise stopped. “Mrrr?”

Andrew swore softly to himself. He had no idea where Claire was and there was a feral Catgirl outside. At least the shelter hadn’t been detected yet. “Ok. Catgirl. Probably. Claire said she was going to pee aaaaand I have no idea where she is.  Is there an Alpha bond yet? I really don’t feel like getting clawed tonight. Oh I’m rambling. Where the fuck is Claire!?” He muttered to himself.

“Mrawwwwrr” Came the noise again, accompanied by the rustling of some leaves. Right outside.

“HEYY!” Yelled Andrew “GET OUT OF HERE YOU BALL OF FLUFF! NO CATGIRLS ALOUD!!”

“HISSSS” Spat the feral. But instead of running away Andrew heard her smack into the side of the shelter.

“Oh shit. Shitshitshitshitshit. CLAIRE! I COULD REALLY USE SOME HELP RIGHT NOW!” He screamed.

“RRrrrr-“ He heard before, “HEY! Get the fuck away from my Tamer, Fuzzball!”

Andrew grinned. “Took you long enough, Claire.” He called. “Done making Niagra Falls yet?”

“Shut up! It’s raining and it’s cold and YOUR DAMN SHELTER WAS REALLY HARD TO FIND AND I HATE YOU FOR BEING RIGHT! Sir. Now if you will excuse me, I’m going to destroy this bitch!” Claire yelled back at him.

Andrew started laughing. “Don’t kill her. Here-” He said and poked his head out of the shelter. “-just beat her up until I can capture her. We’re going to need the money, ok?” His eyes widened. Claire hadn’t been kidding. He could tell just by looking at her that it was definitely raining. And definitely cold. And she was definitely ready for a second taming. “And, uh, make it quick, ok? I need to sleep tonight but, uh, not for an hour or so.”

Claire glanced at his head poking out from what seemed to be a solid rock face. “So that’s where you hid it. You’ll have to show me your technique in hiding that thing. It’s quite well done.”

He pointed behind her. “Aren’t you forgetting something?”

Claire’s eyes widened as she spun around. “Shit!” She spat as the Catgirl leapt at her. “Cmere you fuzzball. I am NOT! HAVING! ANY! OF! YOUR! SHIT!” She screamed, punctuating each word with a punch. Andrew blinked. Claire had picked up a branch somewhere and she was using it as a pole to keep the Catgirl away. “Claire, try distracting her by throwing that branch in her face and dodging around to hit her from behind.” He called. “Yessir!” Claire grinned. “Here, kitty kitty KITTY!” She sang as she threw the branch right into the charging Catgirl’s eyes. The Catgirl shrieked and Claire ran around her opponent as the Catgirl tried to get its eyes to open. “Nighty night!” She teased and smacked the Catgirl right between her ears, dancing back as Andrew tossed a pokéball. It rocked once before indicating a successful capture.

“Nice one. Grab her and get in here. Like I said, I still have some time before I want to sleep tonight.” Andrew smiled.

Claire bent down to pick up the Catgirl and glanced at Andrew’s eyes, then down to herself. The rain had soaked her tank top and she could plainly see her nipples poking out of the fabric. “Oh sir, it’s so cold out here, can I please come inside?” She pouted.

Andrew’s smile widened. “Oh you poor, miserable waif. Come here, I’ll warm you up.”

Claire giggled and skipped over to the shelter before ducking inside. Andrew quickly thanked whatever gods had given her to him before ducking inside himself.

He didn’t get much sleep that night.

<10:00, Forest in Blue>

Andrew stared out at the rain before re securing the door. He turned around and sat down next to Claire. She had started going around topless, and he couldn’t truthfully say he minded. Of course she had reassured him she would dress properly when there were people around. She just didn’t want her tops getting wet was all.

Yea.

Andrew rolled his eyes and turned to face her. “Claire. I need to tell you some things.” She glanced at him questioningly. “Do you remember when I told Braxton there were two possibilities as to who I am? And I said I choose to see, not to create? Well what scares me is that I wrote murder mysteries and other stories with high death rates.” Claire’s eyes widened. “Yea. If I’m really here, then that means those were real people that died. If I made that happen…” He trailed off.

Claire shook her head. “If that’s what’s worrying you, stop.” She murmured. “What’s past is past. What’s done is done. What’s important is now. Now you are here. You’re my Tamer.”

Andrew sighed. “I also need to talk to you about that. You seemed to really love Mark. I don’t want you to think you have to stay with me just because I rescued you. Or because I tamed you. Twice. If you don’t want to be with me, you can go.”

“It’s not because of that that I am still here. It’s because Mark was a nice person. And so are you. So I know you will be nice to me. Just like Mark was.” She smiled up at Andrew. “And your not strict, just like Mark. I don’t feel the need to call you master and stuff.” She laid her head on his chest. “I’m a threshold girl. Mark was just a random guy who came along at the right time. I always said I wouldn’t call anyone Master, and he never made me. Sure, I did in public, where he could get in trouble if I didn’t. Same as back with Braxton. But you don’t make me say it. You told me you hate it, actually. I want to stay with you because of that. Not because you save me. Though that was nice too.”

Andrew smiled and started stroking her hair. “Thanks. That makes me feel a lot better. So, since you have decided that, I want to ask you about something.” He took a deep breath but paused when Claire reached up and took his hand, moving it off her hair.

“My hair doesn’t need stroking right now.” She said haughtily as she moved his hand to her breast.

Andrew rolled his eyes and kissed her on the cheek. “You’re worse than a Growltit. Alright. Gimme a minute, ok? This is serious.” He said and went back to stroking her hair. “Look. I like to fight. I like strong people. And, because of that, I was thinking what I would want you to be evolved to. But I don’t like thinking like that. So I wanted to ask you what you wanted. And don’t tell me you want what I want. Tell me what you want.”

Claire smiled dreamily. “Well, I have always dreamed of flying, just like my mom. And I can evolve into a Valkyrie, so that works.” She looked hopefully at Andrew.

He grinned at her. “And I had always dreamt of having an Armsmistress. Which Valkyrie can evolve into. So, starting whenever this rain stops, we’re going to work on evolving you into a Valkyrie, ok?”

Claire hugged him. “Thank you so much. I knew I was going to like you.” She quickly sat back. “But, sir, your knee seems to have poked me when I just jumped you.” She said mock-seriously.

Andrew stuck his tongue out at her. “That wasn’t my knee.”

Claire’s eyes twinkled. “Oh sir, would you warm this poor waif?”

Andrew rolled his eyes. “That only worked once. I don’t need anymore of that roleplaying yet. Ok?” he asked, and when Claire nodded, he slapped her exposed boob gently, causing her to jump and stiffen in surprise and pleasure. “Geez. You are really worse than a Growltit. Ok, so, fuck all day until the rain stops? Is that what you want?”

Claire pouted at him and nodded slightly. He grinned. “Yes, please, master.” She whispered and slid into his lap, rubbing her tits against his groin.

He grinned as his dick bobbed into view. “Major Dick, reporting for duty, ma’am. Ready on your orders.”

Claire fell over laughing. Andrew sighed. He couldn’t believe that he was that funny…

Behind Andrew, the camera on his pokédex swiveled slightly to get a better view. Braxton leaned back from the screen and glanced at the shadowy figure next to him. “Interesting. His actions are exactly opposite to what I saw during our meeting. There is something to his mind story.”

The shadow shrugged. “Just keep an eye on ‘im. Don’t lose ‘im.”

Braxton gave a salute and turned back to the screen in time to see Andrew’s shirt sail by the camera. He grinned.

At least he got a free show.
