Chapter 11

To Meteor Falls

          Nicholas watched Morgana rock back and forth in her chair, her arms wrapped around her body in an attempt to cover herself. “I can get you new clothes, Morgana. I’m sure there are many stores in Mauville to choose from.”

          “I don’t know what I want, Master,” Morgana replied in a dull voice. “I don’t know.”

          “We’ll get you a new sundress.”

          “I don’t know if I want one.”

          Nicholas put his head in his hands. It had been the same thing all morning. The night before? Even worse. He’d always thought the taming session after a pokegirl’s evolution was a happy thing. A celebration and exploration of the girl’s new body. Last night had been nothing but him comforting and reassuring Morgana, and even when he’d been buried in her pussy the tone had been somber. It had barely been enjoyable at all.

          “Look.” Nicholas lowered his hands. “Your clothing, at the very least, needs to be addressed before anything else. When you first became my pokegirl you were horrified to be nude. I know that you’re working through some things right now but I highly doubt that aspect of yourself has changed.” He leaned in. “I’m going to go buy you a replacement sundress. Okay? If you decide later you don’t want it, that’s fine! Tear it off. Get a different style. I don’t care, but for right now I think you need something familiar.”

          Morgana’s eyes were watering. “Okay, Master.”

          “By Arceus this is a mess,” Nicholas grumbled to himself. “Elaine-?” he looked for the Combusken and found her sitting quietly in the same way she had for over a week now. “You good?”

          Elaine shrugged. “Yes, Master.”

          “Unchanged, at least.” Nicholas shook his head and finally turned to Bea. “Bea.”

          The Beldum nodded. “Master?”

          “I know last night I mentioned challenging the gym here… but Morgana’s out of it, Elaine is… Elaine, and I was already thinking that it hadn’t been long enough for you three.” Nicholas sighed. “I don’t think it’s a good idea.”

          “Why are you saying this to me, Master?” Bea asked.

          “Because damn it you’re the only pokegirl here who I can talk to,” Nicholas snapped. “I want feedback, not just ‘Yes Master’.”

          Bea’s heart started pounding hard and she took a breath before licking her suddenly dry lips. “Ah. Well, Master, what do you want feedback on?”

          “The gym. Do we challenge it or not.”

          Bea bit her lip. “Gym battles are our entire goal, aren’t they?”

          “They are, but I don’t think this harem is in a position yet to fight them,” Nicholas replied.

          “We wouldn’t know until we tried,” Bea pointed out. “Even if we aren’t ready we wouldn’t know until we failed.”

          Nicholas grunted. “True.”

          “Does that help, Master?” Bea asked. She did her best to appear disinterested but her pounding heart was not slowing down. He’d asked her. Asked her questions, discussed something that a tamer would usually discuss with their Alpha…

          Nicholas leaned back in his chair and let his eyes travel to the ceiling. It didn’t help. He knew that the girls needed to fight and gain experience. That was obvious. He also knew that Bea was the only one in anywhere near the right state of mind to learn from it.

          But he couldn’t stall forever.

          Blinking he brought his head back down and rummaged for his pokedex. “I agree that we need to challenge a gym.” He pulled up the regional map and zoomed out, eyes running over the markings nearby. Finally he tapped the screen. “We need to challenge a gym. We could do it here, but then I’d probably make us wait for a few days, maybe a week. We’d get stale and there’s no guarantee that we’d get better. Instead, there’s a gym north of here. Keep us moving. Blow off some steam.” He glanced at Morgana. “Get us out of this city and alone where we can figure out our thoughts.”

          When Morgana didn’t so much as nod Nicholas grimaced and put his pokedex away. “I’m going to recall all of you. Once I’ve bought Morgana’s new clothes and gotten out of the city I’ll release…” his eyes flicked to Elaine for a moment before he shook his head and turned to Bea. “Once I’m back out on the road I’ll release you, Bea. Give Morgana time to rest.” He smiled slightly. “Besides. It’s your turn now.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
          Nicholas was reading his map as they transitioned from the main road that wrapped around the base of the mountains to make sure they were on the right path. “This is definitely the way to Lavaridge. Another day, maybe day and a half and we’ll be close.” He raised his head to look at Bea. “I want to see if we can pick enough fights to evolve you by then.”
          Bea was starting to nod when she noticed something and her eyes flicked away. Then she slowed, causing a surprised Nicholas to slow with her until he turned to find what had caught Bea’s attention and slammed to a halt himself.
          The road they had turned onto a few hours ago had been rough, but it still been a maintained path. Unfortunately, that rough road only existed for another hundred yards or so before being completely consumed by a towering, half-melted slide of boulders and what appeared to be hardened lava. The carnage had cleaved straight through the path and there was no obvious way past.
          “Holy shit,” Nicholas breathed in awe. “I’d read that this mountain was a semi-active volcano but holy shit.” The pair slowly approached the slide and Nicholas started scanning it for any potential routes. Still seeing nothing he whistled softly and turned to Bea. “I wonder if you could carve us some steps…”
          “Ho!” Nicholas turned at the call to see a man in a brightly colored uniform appearing from thin air. It was only once he shifted the solid rock around him with his bare hands that the illusion was revealed and Nicholas could see the disguised shelter he had been sitting in. “Can’t let you any further, tamer! It’s too dangerous!”
          Nicholas stepped over, more to get a better look at the man’s setup than anything. “Who are you, then?”
          “Ranger Miles,” the man replied, producing a badge from his pocket and holding it out. “That lava flow’s taken out nearly a mile of the road up ahead. It’s much too treacherous to navigate and I’m sorry, but I can’t let you try.”
          “Ranger?” Nicholas asked. “What’s that?”
          “Pokegirl Ranger?” Miles replied. “We work the spaces in between the cities of the world leagues. Places where there aren’t police to keep the peace, or places where others can’t reach.”
          Nicholas snapped his fingers. “Right. I’ve heard of you, basically the special forces of the league’s police.”
          Miles laughed. “That’s one way to put it.”
          “So the road is closed, then.” Nicholas turned back to the destruction. “If that’s so then how can I get to Lavaridge Town?”
          “You’ll need to approach the town from further up the mountain,” Miles replied. He pointed back down the road. “About two miles back there’s a fork in the road that will take you up to a cable car station. Take that to the summit and you’ll be able to hike the paths down to Lavaridge.”
          Nicholas nodded. “Thanks.”
          “My pleasure.” Miles walked back to his shelter and began setting it back up. “Be safe out there, tamer. I’ve been hearing reports of those eco-terrorists around here. Can’t leave my post, though, or I’d have investigated myself.”
          “Both of them?” Nicholas asked in surprise.
          Miles nodded grimly. “Might be looking at an altercation here soon. Keep your head down.”
          “But- if both groups are here, isn’t it an excellent opportunity to arrest them?” Nicholas asked in disbelief. “Why isn’t the mountain crawling with police? Or more Rangers?”
          Miles sighed. “Too dangerous. Besides. If they want to fight, let them fight.” He settled back into his shelter. “And no, I’m not going to go looking for groups to arrest myself. It would be suicide.”
          Miles vanished when he pulled the camouflage back into place and left Nicholas and Bea standing by themselves. After a minute Nicholas turned back down the road and gave Bea a distracted wave. “Well. Let’s go find this cable car.”
          “That man would rather keep himself out of danger than fight those acting to harm others,” Bea said when she and Nicholas had gotten far enough away.
          “It’s his job to keep himself safe and not take unnecessary risks,” Nicholas replied, “just as it is his job to keep others safe. I’m sure he’d love to be patrolling for those cult members instead of turning people away from a broken road.”
          Bea snorted. “Excuses. I would not want a Master who makes excuses for his own inaction.” She looked at Nicholas with a crafty smile. “Do I have one?”
          Nicholas took a while to answer. “No. But you also don’t have a stupid one.” He sighed. “Fuck, I don’t… Listen.” He stopped. “We’re not going looking for trouble. Okay? It does nobody any good if we incapacitate one, two cultists and then are taken out ourselves. You and the others are still inexperienced. If we find something big I’ll call Steven.”
          Bea was frowning but she turned back to the road without any more complaints.
          The sun was starting to go down when they saw a number of buildings poking through the trees and soon Nicholas could see a number of cables snaking up the mountain. With a relieved sigh he pushed towards the loading area before coming to a sudden halt and throwing an arm out to stop Bea as well.
          He could see half a dozen people standing around outside the building the cables led to. Two men in red and black outfits, masks over their faces, and four female figures. He identified a Zubat and two Poochyena from the wings and black fur respectively, and the fourth was some kind of red haired girl with a hump on her back from which smoke wafted.
          “Those… aren’t attendants,” Nicholas said quietly. “Shit.”
          Bea hissed quietly. “Master…”
          “No. Hold on.” Nicholas ran his eye over the buildings again. Something had felt off and now that he was looking closer he saw it. The cables running into the building the two Groudon cultists were guarding were completely slack. If a cable car was still attached to them it was grounded.
          “They’ve cut the cables,” Nicholas murmured. “They don’t want anyone heading up the mountain.”
          The sound of Bea’s knuckles cracking was much louder in the silence of the pre-dawn afternoon. “There’s just two of them, Master.”
          “Two tamers with four visible pokegirls,” Nicholas replied. “In a best-case scenario that’s all they have. We’re still outnumbered four to three. No.”
          “We walk away?” Bea asked incredulously. “I thought my Master was a Champion. I thought he fought criminals.”
          “And like he said an hour ago. He’s not stupid enough to pick a bad fight,” Nicholas retorted. “We leave. Come on.”
          Bea was fuming the entire time Nicholas led her away from the cable car station. “This is weakness,” she hissed.
          “This is intelligence,” Nicholas countered with a growl. “I thought you were growing but now I see you’re still the same, Bea. The same as when we first met.” He turned back and Bea came to a halt when Nicholas invaded her personal space. “You are not strong. You are not experienced. And normally, that would be fine. If you were humble enough to admit it.” He remained up in her face but never touched her, instead letting his words do all the work. “Instead you are cocky, and arrogant, and a fool. You make claims with nothing to back them up; you make threats without considering the consequences. That is what you must change, Bea. Before anything else. Before you will be able to become strong, before you will grow.” He finally stepped back with a sidelong glance. “As you are, you are nothing but a pokegirl in my harem. No better than Elaine.”
          Bea jerked back as Nicholas turned away from her. She felt numb. He believed she was no better than Elaine? But she had been doing everything to be more like his Alphas. How could he say that nothing had changed? “But in Mauville!” she cried. “You told me I was better, Master. That I HAD changed. How can you say this now? Was that all a lie?”
          Nicholas paused and looked back at her. “Was it, Bea?” he asked quietly. “Were you lying to me back then?”
          “Uh… No, Master, you were the one…”
          “What I said I said because of the way you acted,” Nicholas interrupted. "Were you lying to me, Bea? Just like you lie to yourself?”
          Bea couldn’t find the words to respond and after a few seconds Nicholas turned away again. “Come on. We need to get further away before I can check the map and figure out what to do next.”
          He led her down a nearby trail for a few hundred yards before finally coming to a halt and pulling out his pokedex. “Kalmiya.” Nicholas glanced back, mostly to look at what Bea was choosing to do but also to make sure they weren’t being followed. “I need another route to Lavaridge.”
          “I’m sorry, Master, but there are none,” Kalmiya replied apologetically. The emitter crackled as she manifested a hologram above the screen and pointed at a cutout of the map. “The main road is what has been destroyed. Then there are trails and maintained roads that originate in Lavaridge and climb the mountain. Those are inaccessible without the cable car. At least, not easily.”
          “Basically we’d have to cut our own path up the mountain from here if we wanted to get to the main trails,” Nicholas summarized.
          “Precisely, Master.”
          “Why can’t anything be easy?” Nicholas griped. “That’s really it? There’s no other way to the summit, or to Lavaridge directly?”
          “Not on the map, Master,” Kalmiya replied.
          Nicholas stared at the section on screen. Try as he might he couldn’t find any markings beyond what Kalmiya had talked about. But… “Kalmiya, this is the map of this side of Mt. Chimney, correct?”
          Kalmiya frowned and looked down. “Well, I suppose so, Master. But if there was a path to the summit,” she gestured up at the caldera of the volcano, “that ran down the northern slope, there would be a reference to it. The same if there was a path that circumnavigated the mountain.”
          “Humor me. Are there any maps out there of the north side of Mt. Chimney?”
          Kalmiya cocked her head. And Nicholas waited. It was nearly ten minutes later that she spoke again. “I couldn’t find any modern maps of that side of the mountain, Master. All information suggested that it is uncut wilderness. But,” she quickly continued before he could speak, “I knew that would not satisfy you.”
          Nicholas chuckled. “You’re right.”
          “I have a map, but not of Mt. Chimney.  And it is nearly fifty years old.”
          “Show me.”
          The screen changed. Now it showed a mountain range instead of the solo peak of Mt. Chimney. “This is a map of an area named Meteor Falls, Master,” Kalmiya explained. “I have taken the liberty of overlaying the old map’s information on a current map of the terrain to make viewing easier. If you would direct your attention to the south-east corner…”
          Nicholas looked. And there, barely visible among the rolling hills and numerous cave entrances was a small arrow. ‘To Mt. Chimney’.
          “Is that a trail?”
          “It may have been at one point, Master. Modern maps of this area do not include any reference to it.”
          “It’s the only remaining possibility we have?” Nicholas asked.
          Kalmiya shrugged. “There are no other possible established trails to get to Lavaridge. If we had access to a flying pokegirl we could easily bypass the destroyed sections of the road. Perhaps Ashley…?”
          “This isn’t Ashley’s journey,” Nicholas said. “It’s Bea, Elaine, and Morgana’s. How do we get to this possible trail?”
          The screen changed back to the map of where he was. “Meteor Falls is an area beyond most civilization in Hoenn, known as a beautiful camping and hiking area. Expeditions set out from Rustboro or Fallarbor.”
          “Well we’re nowhere near Rustboro,” Nicholas replied. “How do we get to Fallarbor?”
          “Fallarbor is a tiny town below the north side of Mt. Chimney,” Kalmiya replied. Her hologram winked when Nicholas started to groan. “Luckily, Master, there is an easy way to get to the northern side of the mountain. Just not to climb it.”
          “Oh thank goodness,” Nicholas groaned. “How?”
          “Well we could spend a few weeks traversing the desert interior of the Hoenn region…”
          “NO!”
          Kalmiya had started laughing even before Nicholas’ response and she barely managed to continue. “But if that isn’t acceptable then we can take a tunnel system that runs under the mountain. As long as we don’t stay there for too long the heat shouldn’t be an issue.”
          “Heat.” Nicholas shook his head. “Yeah. Active volcano. Is it safe?”
          “The tunnel is marked on official trail maps,” Kalmiya replied, gesturing at a cave entrance on the screen. “It is as safe as such a thing can be.”
          “Well.” Nicholas sighed. “It won’t be easy. But unless I want to slink back to Mauville with my tail between my legs it’s the only option.”
          “The desert…” Kalmiya started with a mischievous twinkle in her eye.
          “BEA!” Nicholas dropped his pokedex back onto his belt. “WE HAVE  A PLAN!”
          Bea had remained lost in her own thoughts the entire time Nicholas was conversing with Kalmiya. As he stepped back over to where she waited her eyes silently moved to his.
          “We’re heading under the mountain to see if we can find an old trail that can take us to Lavaridge,” Nicholas explained. “It might get a bit hot so if you’d like I’ll bring Elaine out.” He frowned when Bea didn’t respond. “You know, your body being made of metal? High heat might be…?”
          “Master.”
          Nicholas stopped. “Bea?”
          Bea took a breath before affixing him in her gaze. “I will be fine.”
          “I’m just offering to make things easier on you.”
          “I do not want things to be easy, Master.” Bea maintained eye contact. “Your Alphas would not back down from discomfort.”
          “Bea, you’re not my Alpha,” Nicholas replied softly.
          Bea grimaced. “I am aware, Master. You remind me often. But… I wish to be. And so I believe that if I act as your others do then you will choose me to join them.” She broke eye contact and glanced away. “It is… was… an attempt to manipulate you. Just as you warned me not to do when you accepted me into your harem.” She went silent for a bit before turning back to him. “Just as this admission is meant to do the same.”
          Slowly, Nicholas nodded. “In Mauville, Bea, you acted selflessly. That is what I want in an Alpha, as I’m sure you knew. And I told you that you’d grown.” He bent down slightly to take her hand. “You are a scarily smart pokegirl. The subtle manipulation you were attempting is proof of that. And the thing is, your manipulation right now is working too. Because even as you admit to me everything you are doing and were doing all I can think of is how you’ve decided to come clean. Tell me, in your calculations did coming clean with me produce the best result?”
          Bea nodded slightly.
          “Why do you think that was?” Nicholas asked. “What factors led to this decision?”
          “…I’m unsure if you would want to hear my explanation, Master,” Bea replied.
          Nicholas slowly began to chuckle, and after a few moments he broke out into full blown laughter much to Bea’s surprise. “Hahaha! Oh, Bea, you’re good. You’re right. I don’t want to know. I want to guess to make myself feel as smart as you.”
          “Er-“ A blush was beginning to grow across Bea’s face. “I mean- yes, Master, I had considered that, but, um…”
          “I am so glad that I was tricked into taking you with me,” Nicholas said as he let go of her and straightened back up. “You remind me so much of Cassidy. She and I have had such entertaining conversations together.” He smiled. “Sometimes, the most efficient or profitable course of action will not be the most truthful one. I only ask that from now on you will choose to take the truthful path when the harem or I are concerned.” His smile grew. “Because that is what an Alpha of mine would do.”
          Bea lifted her chin after a moment. “I promise to do what your Alphas would do.” For a second her lips twitched up in a sly grin. “Of course, Master, a new Alpha may change what that means.”
          Nicholas couldn’t help himself as his smile turned into a grin and he let out a barking laugh. “At least you’re being truthful with yourself now.” He shook his head and gestured down the path. “Come on. We’ve got a few days of difficult hiking ahead of us.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

          Nicholas pushed ahead in the blowing ash with his arm holding one of his spare shirts over his nose and mouth. The trip under Mt. Chimney had taken them two days. Two hot, sweaty, exhausting days. And the bleak gray landscape they had emerged onto on the other side was hardly better. But Fallarbor was just ahead. He could even see a few buildings through the ash-choked air.

          As he stepped into a narrower pass the blowing wind subsided a bit and the drifting ash began to settle onto the ground until finally he lowered his shirt and was able to take a full breath of clean air once again.

          It was another half hour or so before he entered the town itself. It was, just as Kalmiya had warned, tiny. Even the local pokecenter looked like a normal house that someone had just painted red.

          “Will we be staying the night, Master?”

          Nicholas looked back at Bea. The Beldum was mostly unchanged by the layer of ash that covered her since her normal skin color was already nearly gray, though now her coloration was truly uniform, broken only by her sparkling red eyes. “Do you need a rest?”

          The sparkling red orbs vanished when Bea closed her eyes and grunted. Nicholas quickly danced back when she violently shook her body, ash spraying into the air as she scrubbed the worst of it from her skin. When she opened her eyes again her skin could be seen under the streaks of gray still left behind. “I don’t, Master.”

          “…Yeah. Sure you don’t,” Nicholas chuckled. “How about this. We’ll get you a cleaning cycle before figuring out which way to Meteor Falls.”

          When Bea smiled Nicholas turned to the pokecenter and headed inside.

          There was only a single other person in the lobby, a woman sitting at the lone computer in the corner. Nicholas handed over his pokeballs to the attendant and took a seat before glancing around for something to occupy his attention. The sparsely decorated walls didn’t help much and the room quickly returned to a near perfect silence broken only by the rapid tapping as the woman typed.

          Since she was the only thing moving Nicholas’ eyes were eventually drawn over. He didn’t have a good angle but the screen of the computer she was working on kept flashing. He thought he saw pictures, then a wall of text, then pictures again, then a much more jumbled wall of text…

          With a grunt he got to his feet and wandered over. “Hello? Sorry to bother…”

          The woman whirled in her seat. “Oh! I’m so sorry, did you need to use the computer? I can work on this another day…”

          “No, no no,” Nicholas waved his hands when the woman turned back and started rapidly closing windows. “I just got curious as to what you were doing, that’s all.”

          “Oh!” The woman turned back with a huge smile. “I was just testing some adjustments to the storage algorithms. The pokecenter is always having issues with their limited hardware.”

          “Oh. Storage algorithms,” Nicholas said unenthusiastically. “So that was all code.”

          “That’s right!” The woman turned back and pulled up one of the walls of text. Now that he was looking Nicholas could see the orderly breaks and lines. “If a tamer attempts to access too many stored girls at a time the system can slow down horribly. I’m attempting to use data sets for repeating pieces of the pokegirl genomes, which I’d then consolidate into a single set that would be reassembled using a pointer…”

          Nicholas had started tuning her out when he heard her mention pokegirls. “Huh? Pokegirl whatsits?”

          “Pokegirl genomes, for reassembly from storage,” the woman explained.

          “Wait, what?” Nicholas pulled his full attention back to the woman in front of him. “You’re messing with a pokegirl storage system?”

          “Well, of course,” the woman replied in surprise. “I’ve been working on improving our original code for years.”

          “For- our?” Nicholas took a step back and shook his head. “Who are you?”

          “Oh you’re not from Fallarbor!” the woman cried and shot to her feet. “I’m so sorry I don’t come into town much so I had no idea if you were new or a traveller! I’m Lanette. I live just outside of town.”

          Nicholas took her hand when she offered it. “And… you designed the pokegirl storage system? I thought Bill did that. From Johto.”

          “Oh, Bill led the team but I was certainly a part of it!” Lanette cried. “Well, a part of the localization team… I designed the interface for Hoenn’s computer systems and adapted Bill’s design.”

          “Huh.” Nicholas said. “Well, that’s incredible. It was a pleasure to meet you.”

          “Are you interested in computers, then?” Lanette asked curiously. “Most tamers wouldn’t consider me important.”

          “Not really computers, no,” Nicholas replied, “but I’m good friends with Bill so I’ve taken a passing interest in his work.”

          “You’re friends with Bill!” Nicholas leaned back when Lanette shot out of her chair with an excited grin. “What a chance meeting this is! Are you staying long in Fallarbor? Where are you heading next?”

          “Oh, uh, I was just passing through, actually,” Nicholas explained. “I’m heading to Meteor Falls…”

          “My house is on the way!” Lanette exclaimed. “Please, won’t you visit? I would love to talk more and you are welcome to stay the night.”

          Nicholas nodded. “That’s very kind of you.”

          “Of course, of course! Any friend of Bill’s is a friend of mine,” Lanette replied with her beaming smile. “Follow me…”

          “One moment,” Nicholas apologized, heading to the counter and waiting until the attendant handed him back his pokeballs. “Okay. All set.”

          Lanette gave him a sheepish grin when he walked back. “Sorry. I didn’t think about your pokegirls.”

          Nicholas chuckled and followed her outside. “No harm done.”

          “Just follow me!” Lanette cried before placing her fingers between her lips and letting out a piercing whistle.

          Nothing happened for a few seconds but then a response could be heard, Lanette settling back as a shape broke from the cliffs around town and began rapidly approaching. Nicholas was expecting a gust of wind as the flying pokegirl came in for a landing but what he got was exactly the opposite - as the girl got close her billowing white wings flapped and the light breeze swirling past went still, giving the illusion that she was levitating as she touched down.

          “An Altaria?” Nicholas asked as the blue-skinned pokegirl daintily stepped towards Lanette.

          “This is Colette,” Lanette said, teasing Colette’s cheek with a smile. “Just follow us to my house.”

          “Wait, wait!” Nicholas called as Colette began preparing to lift Lanette into her arms. “I don’t have a flying pokegirl!”

          Lanette raised a hand to stop Colette. “You don’t? Why not?”

          “I’m taking the badge challenge here in Hoenn,” Nicholas explained. “I haven’t gotten one yet.”

          Colette made suspicious twittering noises that Nicholas guessed was laughter and Lanette rapped the Altaria on the nose. “Colette…”

          “Mistress…” Colette replied with the same laughing noise.

          “Just take me home and then come back for this tamer, please,” Lanette sighed. “What was your name again, tamer?”

          “Nicholas.”

          “Colette will be back in a few minutes, Nicholas,” Lanette replied, hanging on when the Altaria took to the sky.

          It wasn’t long before Colette reappeared and Nicholas let her pick him up, wrapping his arm around her waist as the Altaria took off.

          Colette hummed as his grip shifted slightly to a more comfortable spot for her. “You have flown with a pokegirl like I before, sir.”

          “Hm?” Nicholas blinked. “Oh, holding above your hips?”

          “Why do you not have a pokegirl that can fly, sir?” Colette asked as they winged over the forest, curving west around the mountain and away from the blowing ash that covered the northern slope. “I am bound to my Mistress… but something about you calls to me.”

          “Er… I just haven’t met one in Hoenn that I like yet,” Nicholas replied awkwardly. “I’m not taking you away from Lanette.”

          Colette let out that same twittering laugh. “I would not go with you if you tried, sir. But once, I was part of a flock. There are many others.” Nicholas saw her glance down at him for a second. “Many who would possibly even fight over a human such as you.”

          Nicholas laughed to himself. “This was what Lanette was telling you not to talk about.”

          Colette grinned. “I do not hear Mistress telling me anything right now, sir.”

          “We’ll see,” Nicholas replied. “Now take me to Lanette’s house.”

          With a laugh Colette banked, changing direction completely and winging out away from Mt. Chimney.

          Lanette was standing with crossed arms when Colette finally landed in front of her house and let Nicholas go. “Colette,” she said with a slight edge to her voice, “why did you take so long bringing him here?”

          Colette stepped away from Nicholas with her best innocent look. “I am unsure what you mean, Mistress.”

          Lanette grunted but didn’t press any further. “Come on inside, Nicholas.”

          “I have been meaning to add a flying pokegirl to my harem but haven’t had the chance yet,” Nicholas said as they headed inside. “Thank you for letting me borrow Colette to get here.”

          Lanette shot him a suspicious look but Nicholas maintained a blank one and she snorted before turning back away. “You’ve been meaning to, have you? I suppose one of the local Swablu would love a tamer. Wouldn’t they, Collete?”

          “I am sure at least one of them would, Mistress,” Colette replied innocently, still standing in front of the house.

          “For fuck’s sake. Go on.”

          Colette was in the air before Lanette could change her mind and Nicholas closed the door behind him.

          “I really have been meaning to add a pokegirl that can fly to my harem,” Nicholas said as he joined Lanette at a table covered in research notes. “Just haven’t run into the right one yet.”

          “Well you’re about to run into about a dozen,” Lanette grumbled. “So anyways, Nicholas. What brings you out here?”

          Nicholas explained his situation, the destroyed road, the destroyed cable car, and the potential trail at Meteor Falls. Lanette absentmindedly followed along but after he had finished she spoke. “The cable car. Why’s it broken, again?”

          “Some of those Groudon cultists were guarding it.”

          “Magma, they call themselves,” Lanette replied. “I’ve seen a few of them poking around the falls. Them and those others, Aqua.”

          “Magma and Aqua?”

          “Land and sea,” Lanette snorted. “That’s all they each stand for. Earth and water. How they can attract support just by waving a flag with nothing else on it is beyond me.”

          “You’ve seen them around, though?” Nicholas asked. “Where?”

          “The falls. I don’t know what they’re doing there or what they’re looking for but I’d steer clear of the main caves if I were you.” Lanette glanced out a nearby window with a pensive look. “They approached me a week or so ago. Asked about why the falls are called what they are. Stuff anyone can learn by just looking it up.”

          “That is rather strange.”

          “Yeah.” Lanette looked back. “Anyways. Would you like to see the work I’m doing? As soon as Colette gets back I’m sure you’re going to become rather busy for the rest of the day.”

          Nicholas spent an hour talking to Lanette about the pokegirl storage system and the work she was doing until they heard whistling outside. With a defeated wave Lanette indicated it was time and Nicholas headed to the door to see who or what Colette had brought with her.

          The front yard was packed with blue-skinned pokegirls. At least a dozen Swablu, if not more, with Colette standing at the head of the pack with a satisfied smile on her face.

          When Nicholas appeared in the doorway the gathered pokegirls all collectively stopped chattering amongst each other and turned to look at him. He took the moment of calm to scan the crowd for any that jumped out at him. Like Colette none of the other Swablu seemed to be wearing anything, though with Colette she had shaped the fluffy feathers or whatever they were that adorned her body into pseudo clothing ringing her collarbone and waist, which then extended further down to cover her nipples and pussy. None of the gathered Swablu had bothered doing the same, if they had the ability to at all.

          So he was standing in front of a crowd of naked, interested pokegirls. Wild pokegirls, he assumed, some maybe even bordering on feral but held back by the Altaria in front of them. The group covered nearly the entire range of possible bodies, too. From flat chests to large ones, nearly human with wings to oddly shaped avian bodies with breasts, for the first time in his career he was looking at a sample of an entire breed of pokegirl instead of just an individual.

          Something he did find interesting, however, was how the Swablu all seemed to have six limbs. Even as a first-tier evolution their wings were separate from their arms. It was the first time he’d seen that in a pokegirl line.

          “You are looking for a flying pokegirl, sir?” Colette asked mischievously. “These pokegirls are looking for a tamer, sir.”

          Carefully Nicholas stepped out into the crowd. He had so many options to pursue but he knew that whichever one he picked first would have to be the one he kept. Doing otherwise would cause hurt feelings and problems both now and later on with whatever Swablu he eventually decided on. If he made a choice and stuck with her then that would be the end of it.

          A few of the Swablu tried to rub up against him and he pushed their advances away. He was looking for something that he had seen in Slateport, with the coordinator’s Altaria. A girl that held herself above the rest. Composed, dignified, regal.

          He had to break through the first wave of assertive pokegirls before he got to the group that matched what he was looking for. And specifically, one who looked as if she had no interest in the actions of the Swablu around her.

          Nicholas stopped in front of the one that had caught his eye. She gazed back neutrally, no tilting of the head, no steps forwards, nothing to indicate that she was interested but the two of them looking at one another. She was here and that was all the indication she believed necessary. Nicholas agreed.

          “Do you understand me?” Nicholas asked.

          Now, finally, the girl made a motion. Her head tilted slightly and she let out a questioning chirping noise in response to his voice but that was it.

          “If you’re tame I need you to say something,” Nicholas continued. When the girl only blinked he reached into his pocket for a pokeball. “I’ve made my choice, Colette.” He held up the orb, waiting for the Swablu’s eyes to move to it before tapping it against one of her large breasts. As he did so a few of the gathered Swablu began making angry noises but they quickly fled when Colette twirled, her eyes picking out the agitators as she let out a commanding whistle. Within minutes the small flock had scattered, leaving Nicholas and Colette alone with the blinking pokeball.

          “Choice, made. A good choice, sir,” Colette said happily. “One of my flock.”

          Nicholas raised an eyebrow. “Your flock?”

          Colette’s wings shrugged in time with her shoulders. “Maybe sister, maybe daughter. She is from my flock.”

          “From when you yourself were going feral.”

          Colette nodded. “Yes, sir.”

          “Well I’ll make sure to take care of her,” Nicholas replied.

          Colette nodded, eyeing him strangely. “Please do, sir. I envy her some – she will get to experience the thing that calls me while I will not.”

          Nicholas gave her a nervous grin and, when Colette didn’t move to say anything else, he scampered towards the door again.

          Lanette had been right. Since he now had a new pokegirl he intended on spending the rest of the day getting to know her.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
          The Swablu materialized from the pokeball with exactly the same posture she had held before being captured by it. It didn’t matter that the scenery had changed from outside the house to inside the spare bedroom, or that the human who had been standing in front of her before was now as naked as she was, she remained aloof as Nicholas looked her over.
          The Swablu wasn’t too short but she was a head shorter than he was, maybe around 5’8” or 5’9”. That smaller frame highlighted her generous chest even more and Nicholas couldn’t help but run his eyes over her large breasts a few times before he continued down her body. The Swablu was nearly human in appearance, besides her fluffy white wings and blue skin, but one major identifier could be seen below her knees. As his eyes traveled towards her feet the soft blue gave way to tough, almost scaley skin before ending in four-toed feet. Three pointing forwards, one backwards, each toe tipped with a wicked talon. These were true talons, nothing like Elaine’s modified nails.
          He brought his eyes back up to give the Swablu one more sweep and found himself staring at her chest once again. It really was hard not to, the way the Swablu was standing without shame, the way her perky nipples rose and fell as she breathed, the-
          Nicholas blinked, hard, and pulled his attention to the Swablu’s face with some difficulty. “So. Did the pokeball’s taming cycle do anything for you, or am I speaking to a feral?” He waited a moment for a response. “I would really appreciate if you’d reply to me if you’re able.”
          Still no change from the Swablu and Nicholas shrugged. He was already at half mast just from looking so he knew the moment that he started touching the Swablu he’d be fully erect. That would make things happen a lot quicker. “No discussion, then. I’ll tame you and we can talk after.”
          The Swablu hummed when he ran his hands up her sides and Nicholas was finding his grip somewhere between the base of her wings and her shoulders, his erection poking the Swablu’s thigh, when she finally made her first major move. Nicholas felt her suddenly push into him, her breasts squishing against his chest, and was stepping back when he felt her wings beginning to fold around his back. Then his foot caught on something hard and he was thrown off balance, smacking to the ground in time to see the still standing Swablu continue shoving her body forwards. Only now that he was sitting down she was the taller one and he let out a muffled exclamation when her groin was shoved into his face.
          The Swablu didn’t stop there. Though Nicholas couldn’t see it her expression had changed, her detachment now replaced by an imperious smile as she caught his head before Nicholas could pull away and kept his face buried in her cunt.
          Nicholas could feel the slick folds of the Swablu’s vagina rubbing across his nose and mouth as she solidified her hold on his head. Without a doubt she was expecting him to get to work pleasuring her. But while he wasn’t against the idea, this was a feral – or nearly so – pokegirl trying to dominate him. Did he want to open his mouth and start probing his tongue? Yes. Was it a smart idea to do so when she was in control?
          No. Not at all.
          The Swablu was holding Nicholas steady so when the man suddenly got to his feet she was taken completely by surprise. Least of all by the display of physical strength it took for him to simply put his feet down and stand up. Her grip was shaken loose and she found her hands sliding down his back as Nicholas smoothly returned to his previous position. The surprise didn’t last long. Now that she was in motion the Swablu’s indifference was gone and Nicholas heard a low hiss whistling out of her mouth as she moved to push him back down. Almost like…
          The Swablu froze when she heard the growl. Nicholas caught her hands when they faltered, pulling her as close as possible as he bent his face down to hers and continued letting out the low, rumbling noise. In the beginning, he had been human. In Johto, he had learned of his heritage, and begun to embrace it. Just as he had been warned by the Blackthorn Elder he had begun to change over the years since. His body had slimmed even as his muscles grew stronger. His sexual stamina and skills had expanded much to the delight of his pokegirls. But most importantly, what had once been limited to illusions granted by his aura were now aspects of his physical body. Such as his eyes. It was those slit eyes that now drilled into the Swablu’s. A physical indication of exactly what she had tried to control.
          Meteor Falls. The lands of the Draconid clan. Still thrumming with that ancient energy from when Rayquaza had first entwined her fates with theirs. Nicholas didn’t know why he felt the massive thrill that ran through his body as he responded to the Swablu’s challenge, but he rode that high as he steered the stunned pokegirl backwards towards the bed on the other side of the room. Before she knew what was happening she was the one getting her legs knocked out from under her and she finally made another noise, the first since Nicholas had ensnared her, a surprised squeak when he maintained his hold and drove her flat on her back.
          The Swablu tried one last time to take back control and she immediately quailed when Nicholas’s lips drew back and he snarled in her face. In an instant she had gone from domineering to submissive and Nicholas smirked when she turned her head to the side, the dark blush that had been growing across her face highlighting her surrender.
          I thought they were birds but they’re dragons, Nicholas thought triumphantly, a brief interruption before he pounced on the pokegirl beneath him. This was what Colette felt from me.
          The Swablu was trembling slightly in anticipation as she waited for him to penetrate her. So when Nicholas leaned back instead there was a moment of confusion on her face before he returned to where she had been trying to put him from the beginning. Face buried in her pussy.
          The Swablu’s scream was so loud that Nicholas winced in pain and he was about to release her to slam his hands over his ears when he realized that he could do one better. With a laugh he pressed the Swablu’s thighs against the sides of his head, using her own body to dampen the piercing squeals as he ravished her flooded snatch. She was already shaking in orgasm before he had gone more than a few seconds but he didn’t slow, reaching as deep as he could while also shifting his position every few licks to tease a different spot.
          It was only once the Swablu’s thighs clamped against his head on their own that he moved on, pulling himself free as her juices dripped down her taint. Without giving her even a second to recover he leapt forwards, pulling her down just as he used his grip on her to pull himself forwards and bury his member to the balls.
          The Swablu had run out of breath so when he sank his full length into her all she managed was a wheeze, her eyes and mouth wide open. It wasn’t until Nicholas pulled back and made his first thrust that she gasped, eyes fluttering wildly as she desperately tried to breathe in between each heavy push Nicholas made. Before long she was crying out in pleasure, Nicholas increasing his pace until her breasts were bouncing violently back and forth and the Swablu’s breaths were coming in labored gasps. With a grunt he came, keeping his dick fully inserted until he felt his twitching member begin to soften. Only then did he pull out and move his attention back to the Swablu’s face.
          She was, without a doubt, deep in a taming shock and he crawled up further onto the bed to get a better look. The Swablu only reacted when he fondled her breast, and only then to let out a piteous moan, so he stretched out next to her and settled in to wait.
          “…Aria,” he murmured, still teasing her nipples from time to time as the Swablu trembled. “That’ll be your name.” He kissed her lips, letting her kiss back before chuckling and returning to running his hands over her body.
