///Author's note [31/03/2015]///
Hey, Dey (from long after this was published) here. Finally returned to the Pokegirl Verse, but this series here will not be continued. Currently pursuing other projects, including putting together a friendlier pokedex. More to come regarding that, I hope. I'll keep this up for those that like it (Including myself, which surprised me, since most authors do hate they're earlier work, not to say Joshua isn't far too knowledgable/calm in some situations)
///End Note///

A brilliant light flooded Joshua’s vision the moment he returned to consciousness, blinding him for several moments. Once he’d recovered, he saw a plain wall of white; however, tilting his gaze slightly, he realised the ‘wall’ was a ceiling. Thoughts came flooding in, where was he? How did he get there? And an infinite number more; however they were all unceremoniously thrown aside as a face appeared in front of, or rather above, him. NurseJoy the voice in his head told him, I could have figured that myself Joshua thought irritably back, her brilliant pink hair told him that.

He examined the pokégirl critically; her eyes were an unnaturally vibrant blue and showed a deep feeling of concern, for him he presumed; her face was gentle and had a motherly look to it. She smiled and spoke, in a loving voice “Ah good, you’re awake; how do you feel? Ok?” He nodded stiffly “Good; unfortunately I wasn’t able to fully heal your wounds but you should be fine,” She paused, looking anxious “To be honest it was a bit touch and go with you, we had no idea if you would even wake up,” The very idea of losing someone under her care terrified her, and Joshua could see a lone tear forming in the corner of her eye.

His right hand raised and gently brushed along her cheek, the tear vanished as a surprising sense of calm from the lightness of his touch replaced it. Joshua noticed how she unconsciously leaned into his touch, and he smiled slightly; then he pulled his hand back, getting a quiet sound of displeasure from the NurseJoy; The last thing I need is to end up taming a NurseJoy He grimaced as he ‘fondly’ remembered just how sexually twisted they could get Then again, what pokégirl can’t? The nurse moved away, slightly disgruntled and then returned with a thermometer, she hovered over him for a moment and when he didn’t respond she said “Are you going to open up, or do I need to do this anally?” In response he opened his mouth, and she chuckled as she placed the thermometer on his tongue before he promptly shut it again. With that done she moved off to check on other things; after a few minutes of boredom, Joshua closed his eyes and for the first time in his life, immediately fell asleep.

“Well? What de ye’ think of ‘im?” A gruff voice asked, the owner was a short yet muscular man with a large beard, shaggy brown hair and tanned skin; so all in all he looked a bit like ‘Gimli’ from Lord Of The Rings, he’d read it and couldn’t help but agree, he did seem a lot like him in both looks and personality. The NurseJoy smiled
“From what I could see, he seemed nice, or at least, friendly. I don’t think he killed the man,” ‘Gimli’ frowned
“I never said he did, lass; it was definitely one of those damned tigress, at least, judging by the gaping ‘ole in the poor bastard’s shoulder,” The pokégirl glared at him
“You know what I mean, Marcus, he doesn’t look or act like a killer; I mean he seemed totally calm when he woke up,” ‘Marcus’ sighed
“The best murderers are the ones that can hide under a veil of innocence, and his mind lashed out at Anna when she tried to access his mind; however, I’m willing to take yer word for it,” The nurse relaxed
“Good; I take it you want a word with him?” Marcus nodded and laughed
“I’d ‘ardly be a good sheriff if I didn’t,” She nodded and left the room.

Joshua woke with a jolt as someone shook him gently, it didn’t scare him, he just wasn’t used to being woken like that. His eyes snapped open and he saw the familiar face of the NurseJoy, she grinned “Wake up, you’ve get yourself a visitor,” This ought to be good Joshua grinned to himself as he spotted a man who spontaneously made him think of Gimli walked in; the nurse walked to the visitor and spoke with him for a moment before leaving the room. The man casually moved over to him and lent against the wall
“What the hell were ye’ playin’ at?” The man asked in a surprisingly calm tone, Joshua sat up with a wince, the wounds may be healed but they still bloody hurt
“What?” He asked in confusion; the man was on him in seconds
“WHAT THE HELL WERE YE’ PLAYIN’ AT?!” Joshua was almost deafened by the mans yelling in him face; after a few moments the man visibly calmed and returned to the wall, Joshua grimaced
“Ok, first, ow; and second, if you’re talking about the whole Romanticide thing, I have no idea what happened; I blacked out when she leapt at me,” The man’s expression became one of confusion at the last statement, Joshua brought the glass of water to his lips and drank; after a pause the man managed to say
“You seemed conscious enough when ye were fighting ‘er,” Joshua coughed and spluttered into his drink before choking out
“I *cough* was WHAT?!” The man nodded, brought his right thumb and index finger to his mouth, and whistled. In walked a clearly irritated woman with deep red skin and at least E-cup breasts, at least what he guessed they would look like, a normal human woman would have toppled with those on her chest; he also noticed two, foot long antennae gracing her forehead, just visible over her brunette hair.

As her gaze moved to him, a blazing inferno momentarily lit in her eyes, almost identical to the Romanticide’s only far, far more intense; panic ran through him for a moment but then the fire died and was replaced with an equally powerful sorrow. The panic faded and Joshua turned to the man with a questioning look “Wh-Who did you lose?” He asked stumbling over his tongue slightly; his only answer was a shake of the head. The woman, which according to the voice was an Alaka-Wham, moved beside her master and her grieving brown eyes began to glow with a soft purple light; the room soon began swirling around them, and quickly became nothing but a vortex of light.
***
The room finally stopped swirling to finish in the image of a forest; the trees bearing new growing leaves, the ground covered with a light sprinkling of frost. Joshua’s view moved of its own accord and he found he had no control over his body. He heard a voice call out “Marcus!” and felt himself turn to the sound; standing before him was a truly beautiful woman with shining silver hair, lustrous green eyes and tan skin. He couldn’t help but notice she was completely naked, but was distracted by the voice informing him of her breed, Lupina, and another voice that was not his own lovingly whispering, Lucy. He immediately recognised the voice as the man’s and quickly made the link, This is a memory, if he could he would have laughed at how he’d just stated the agonisingly obvious. He felt happiness wash through him at the sight of Lucy; she beckoned him and he walked slowly towards her; her beckoning intensified and he sped up almost to a run. She then turned and ran in the opposite direction; following, he almost slipped on several icy patches before he began hearing grunts of pain and roars of frustration.

They skidded to a stop as they entered a small clearing, on the other side of it was a battling couple, one small and thin with short dark blonde hair and the other about 7’ 6”, with black hair, tan skin, and most noticeable of all was the 13 foot long tail that ended in sharp scythe-like blade that was repeatedly slashing at the smaller of the two. Judging by the body, the smaller was male, and the other obviously female, not to mention a pokégirl.

The male’s face became visible for a second and Joshua was shocked to find he was staring at himself as the latter dodged blow after blow, each one just nicking at the clothing he wore. All this was realised in under a second and the felt his, or rather Marcus’, hand move and grab something from his belt; throwing it in the air, the pokéball activated, releasing the Alaka-Wham. Anna, Marcus’ voice whispered in Joshua’s head. His focus returned to the duelling pair, the boy just barely sidestepped a strike from the tail, but it still tore straight across his chest, shredding the shirt and leaving a large gash horizontally along his torso; Marcus winced as the boy screamed in pain, before turning to his pokégirls “Anna, Teleport behind the Romanticide with Lucy and use Psywave; Lucy, once there use Takedown and follow with Bite,” Lucy shifted to attack mode and Anna grabbed onto her fur, before they flashed out of existence. Marcus started sprinting across the clearing as the pair reappeared on the other side of the duelling duo.

The moment Anna reappeared, she unleashed a crushing Psywave, which swept over the boy’s head and slammed straight into the pokégirl-about-to-shish-kebab-him’s mind, knocking her off balance. Lucy took the opportunity to use Takedown, smashing her opponent to the ground. Anna, forewarned by her precognition, screamed the Lupina’s name as they fell; but it was too late a warning, before Lucy could react, she and the Romanticide landed on her opponent’s bladed tail, it tore straight through the other pokégirl’s armour before slicing cleanly through the Lupina’s heart, impaling them both. Marcus and Joshua screamed in unified agony at the colossal psychic backlash of a delta bond cutting out, physical and psychological anguish tore through their minds as Marcus fell to his knees. Anna screamed in fury and used Telekinesis to carefully pull Lucy’s body away before bringing down her infernal wrath about the Romanticide. Joshua could feel her rage burning in the very depths of her being, strong as the sun itself. By the end there was nothing left of the pokégirl, just a large pile of blood and gore. Joshua finally relaxed as the world again began to swirl if a bright flurry of lights and colours, before finally fading to black.
***
In the black nothingness Joshua could vaguely heard voices
“You didn’t nullify the emotions from the memory?!” He recognised this one as the NurseJoy
“No, he needed to understand what we went through to save him,” This he didn’t recognise but safely assumed that it was Anna, he subconsciously noted that her voice was filled with contempt
“Even so, that level of psychological strain could have killed him!” You’re tellin’ me Joshua thought angrily to himself as the darkness began to draw him back “If he dies then Lucy’s own death will have been in vain; do you wish that to happen?” And once again he returned to the nothingness.
***
Vision returned, to show Anna, the NurseJoy and Marcus gathered around the bed, judging by the angle, he was lying on his back; he could feel where tears had been streaming down his face, and his throat hurt from screaming. He tilted his head to face Marcus, a single new tear beginning its journey down his face “I’m so…” He cut off his apology as Marcus grabbed him by the throat
Don’t. You. Dare.” He growled and Joshua fell silent; Marcus released him and left the room, Anna following close behind.
“…rry,” Joshua finished before collapsing back onto the bed and falling into a fitful sleep.
